Latest update killing my GPU's
So, the update prior to this latest one, people were complaining their CPU usage was maxing out, and causing problems, I myself had no issues. Now with this latest update, my GPU usage after the spla...
Try write this commands in BF2042 console (Use ~ to open console)
Thread.ProcessorCount X
Thread.MaxProcessorCount X
Thread.JobThreadPriority 1
GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount X
X = write here numbers of your logical threads in CPU - 1
example for CPU i7 8700K :
Thread.ProcessorCount 11
Or make user.cfg file in ur game folder (...)\Battlefield 2042\ with this commands above , then game will load this commands automatically.
In notepad when using the save as option please select , "all files" and in the name instead of the ending .txt , type .cfg
These commands determine how much the game should consume CPU. The more threads the better, although if the game clips on all threads, it's worth entering one less. It helped me.
If this helped please give me xp.
I would try, but the CPU is fine, it's ~ the usage it has always been before this GPU related bug came about.
Can't get into the game, either EA's servers are down for maint or there's a new, neat bug.
Yes, I can see the command strings, and I have a good 30 years in IT. Problem is persistent as its a GPU issue, not CPU.
The last update brought this around. I'm not the only one this is happening to. Yes my framerate is locked, V-sync on or off, doesn't make a different, Variable screen resolution, nothing. Doesn't matter whether it's set to low or ultra. GPU is getting tanked like it's mining.
CPU need more then 8 cores , else user.cfg wont work !
8 threads * , i Have 6 cores with HyberThreading * works ok, after make User.cfg & write manually how much BF2042 can use threads.
In my case, entering 11 threads helped, the voice stopped slutting and the game runs smoothly.
Of course, if someone has a vintage processor like an I7 6700K or older, this processor can definitely be too weak under BF2042. Also yes, in such cases even commands won't help.
You can also try to use the "Smart Game Booster", which closes unnecessary background operations in Windows and relieves the CPU from about 5-16%, but this does not mean that this program will solve the problem of the game freezing or high CPU consumption, it will only cause the game to be able to use more of the CPU's processing power as a result of Windows freeing it up.
Nvidia has a power management option, if you have nvidia, go to the Nvidia panel/Manage 3d Settings and set the power management mode to Adaptive and restart the computer. After this setting, the GPU manages the core and Vram clocks much better, so there are no lags. If you have Radeon, look for something similar in the AMD Panel
This setting is also a helpful option .
I hope this will improve your game playability issue. BF2042 has demanding graphics, so it puts a heavy load on the GPU, you won't be able to overcome it.
Better do a cleanboot and disable all processes.
Only keep game platform processes (services) a ive.
