Latest update killing my GPU's
So, the update prior to this latest one, people were complaining their CPU usage was maxing out, and causing problems, I myself had no issues. Now with this latest update, my GPU usage after the spla...
8 threads * , i Have 6 cores with HyberThreading * works ok, after make User.cfg & write manually how much BF2042 can use threads.
In my case, entering 11 threads helped, the voice stopped slutting and the game runs smoothly.
Of course, if someone has a vintage processor like an I7 6700K or older, this processor can definitely be too weak under BF2042. Also yes, in such cases even commands won't help.
You can also try to use the "Smart Game Booster", which closes unnecessary background operations in Windows and relieves the CPU from about 5-16%, but this does not mean that this program will solve the problem of the game freezing or high CPU consumption, it will only cause the game to be able to use more of the CPU's processing power as a result of Windows freeing it up.
Nvidia has a power management option, if you have nvidia, go to the Nvidia panel/Manage 3d Settings and set the power management mode to Adaptive and restart the computer. After this setting, the GPU manages the core and Vram clocks much better, so there are no lags. If you have Radeon, look for something similar in the AMD Panel
This setting is also a helpful option .
I hope this will improve your game playability issue. BF2042 has demanding graphics, so it puts a heavy load on the GPU, you won't be able to overcome it.
Better do a cleanboot and disable all processes.
Only keep game platform processes (services) a ive.
Cheers
I don't recommend disabling everything (including antivirus and firewall) apart from the game processes, you may catch a trojan which will allow someone to break into someone else's account/computer via your PC and it's then that the uniformed services will come to you and not the hacker, and these days it's no problem to remotely remove any traces of the virus after the fact by the hacker, and all the blame falls on the owner of the PC.
The second reason why I don't recommend doing this, due to the fact that everyone uses their PC for things like facebook, bank account or email (hardly anyone does), if you disable all Windows protection processes (including antivirus and firewall) it's like removing the door in your flat and making a free entry for everyone, everyone enters and takes what they find after all ''found not stolen''.
Such a solution is even weak for those who only have a computer for the game and really only log in to the game (do not use Facebook or anything else except the game), the first better amateur with a primitive keylogen that would detect any antivirus writes down the login and password from the cache and the game account lost 🙂 except for Windows Defender, which only detects fake software.
It's even possible to hack into a PC via a game (you play and the hacker does his thing)
Dont panic , you should read what cleanboot is , and what happen if ya reboot again when ya used cleanboot.
dont give info if ya do not know what it does !!
Cheers
I've described well above what the risks are, I don't know if you know, but by doing it the way you did at the link, you disable all external programs (including antivirus/firewall if you have one) , system firewall and antivirus suck, also I'm not panicking, just writing how it is 🙂 I didn't know you meant to be so restrictive disabling everything that isn't a Microsoft process.
Did you know that by doing so, you are also disabling key processes related to drivers for the Motherboard or GPU or chipset? (Check the list of processes and services you disable this way, I found some from Nvidia, Intel, of course also my antivirus and Firewall and even EaAntiCheat xD)
If someone applied the so called clean boot and did everything described in that link what Rocco shared, you now have problems with BF2042 at your own request, at least some of you.
It's your business what you do to your comp to relieve it, but the risks involved in this process you should know.
A much safer solution is to install any free Windows process management program, such programs like to have an option to disable unnecessary processes/change priority to below normal or low while gaming. They don't disable security or driver related processes/services. or programs like Smart Game Boost, they don't bury anything, they just disable some really unnecessary processes running in the background and with one click restore them all when the game is off.
I on my I7 8700K all I did was apply the in-game commands Thread.ProcessorCount 11 Thread.MaxProcessorCount 11 Thread.JobThreadPriority 1 GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 1 and used Smart Game Boost and all the problems disappeared, so if such an old device supports BF2042 on ultra, new devices will support BF2042 even more on ultra settings.
So much for my hammering on the keyboard, everyone will do as they see fit. Have a great game
IF my English is bad then sorry, English isn't my 1st lang.
