@BolivianMobstah did ya check your drive for any issues ?
Click Start , click RUN, enter this command:
CMD
Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
now typ this line:
chkdsk c: /f
press enter
a message will popup that it can not check while windows is running, press Y for yes to do a drive check as soon ya reboot pc !
Reboot system !
Do not interupt this scan.
Also do this windows health check:
SFC - Windows Health Check
Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
Use the following command lines, pressing Enter after each
(make sure you wait till each of the commands is executed properly):
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Reboot your system
Test game and update us please !
Tried both things you suggested. As far as I could tell, nothing wrong was found by the scans and the issue still remains. I also just tried starting Steam as an administrator (because I saw another forum post where this helped someone) and that didn't work either.
