Main menus do not load on first launch. Happens daily.

Summarize your bug The first time I launch BF2042 during for the day, the main menu will not load. The only screen I see is the one with the earth and satellite animations. This is the screen that will normally announce that the game is connecting to the network, but it is bland - only the animation is running. I have to Alt-F4 to leave the game, since there are zero menu options available. After I alt-f4 out, the subsequent launch of the game will load the game and menu without any problems. This happens every single day. And often multiple times per day if I have a long break between gaming sessions.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Sorry. Can't help. I just start the game and it happens.
What happens when the bug occurs? No menus load.

Hi @inksterfe, could you move the Battlefield 2042 document folder to desktop and see if the same thing happens.

Also, for what it's worth, the big red splash screen that normally shows first, when launching, doesn't appear either. It's basically a black screen that loads right into a blank satellite animation. I've had this issue since at least the last season, so I don't think it has anything to do with the last major update.
I tried restoring my BF2042 game settings inside the Nvidia "Manage 3D Settings" to the defaults, as well, but that didn't work either. Fairly sure I've tried a full re-install already, but may do that overnight anyway.

This is also an issue for me. I’ve reinstalled, checked integrity of the game many times

@inksterfe same here, reinstall/ appdata wipe doesn't help

@Brokeback95 When problems like this pop up it is almost always (99.999% of the time) a problem in a game update. Don't run to put your system through an uninstall/reinstall, it won't help. And if you're using an SSD you're just using up it's life writes. Complain loud and long to the company and just wait for them to fix it.

April 02, 2023... still have this issue .... i buy the game at launch date and this bug still alive.

I uninstalled a few months ago and haven't played since. Too many performance issues. The problem described above was never really solved. The only thing that seemed to solve the issue was moving the game to my SSD, but that wasn't a long term fix. The SSD on my laptop was barely large enough to hold the game and I needed that space for some other vital software. I checked to make sure my HDD was performing correctly and every test said it was running just fine.

The problem of "Your game failed to launch" has just recurred to me after it seemed to have been resolved with the latest update. However this time 2042 would not launch even after many repeated attempts. I got in chat with EA support and he said that they are seeing a lot of this problem and EA does not have a fix for it yet. He gave me a link and said I should clear my EA Launcher cache. https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/ . It worked at least for now and it's simple to do. I'm starting the game now no problem. So try it. It has directions for all platforms.
