micro stuttering (since a couple of days)

Since a couple of days, Battlefield 2042 does have some extreme micro stuttering.

Nothing has changed on my end... I was able to run the game fluently with max settings, no issues at all.

Tried low and max settings, doesn't change a thing, game is still stuttering.

It's not only me -> https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/17eveyu/battlefield_2042_just_broken_all_of_a_sudden/

What is going on? I stopped playing the game because of that... Micro stutter every 5-15 sec.

This is horrible!

  • @FeelsDibsMan Me too. After the update, I have microstuttering, sound crackling and processor is under 90% load. I have already reinstalled Windows several times, video and audio drivers, the game itself - nothing helped. Everything was fine before the update
    My specs: r7 5800x3d, rtx4080, 34Gb 3600Mhz
  • I was having a similar issue but sometime it was even worse with constant stuttering and mouse movement delay which took me down a rabbit hole in the end running a program called LatencyMon resulted in the DPC/ISR routine execution time maxing out the bar.  I then reinstalled my audio drivers and restarted the computer, lowered the sample rate from 192kHz to 96kHz for my Audio playback devices.

    Then I downloaded a program called MSI_util_v3, ran it as administrator and set the interrupt priority for my graphics card to High which was initially Undefined (make sure to check msi if it's not already marked). Then restarted the computer, and the game was running great.

    NOTE: If there are NO devices with the msi checked do not use this method; It is highly recommended to create a system restore point of your C drive before making any changes.

    The download might be a little bit hard to find, but I got mine from https://www.reddit.com/r/OptimizedGaming/comments/107blhi/msi_mode_on_gpus/ or https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/windows-line-based-vs-message-signaled-based-interrupts-msi-tool.378044/ via the mediafire link.

    This last update with the Dark Protocol from ~24 hours ago has added a new issue in which randomly the mouse input either stops responding or becomes extremely slow+delayed; Which was a different issue than previously.. I think it also includes keyboard inputs, as I try to go prone while it's happening and it's also delayed.

    This seems like an anti-cheat issue as while this is happening and you alt-tab out your mouse will have the same issue on windows itself, and then will stop after a second or two.

  • I've had this stuttering since today. Yesterday everything was still fine.
