Summarize your bug The IR and Radar missiles in the game do not behave properly when in-flight toward a locked target. Their flight path is erratic and as such, prevents means to defeat them using terrain or obstacles. This behavior is especially pronounced when the target has deployed flares after the missile launch.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game using IR or Radar missiles and observe their flight paths.
What happens when the bug occurs? The missile follows a seemingly random flight path, which includes physically impossible turns and redirections mid-flight. If the missile is in the air when flares are deployed by the target, the missile will seemingly "loiter" in a looping, circular pattern around the target until it bugs and relocks the target or expires and self-destructs.
What should be happening instead? The missile should only pursue the target on the "straightest path" to it. A proportional pursuit system should be implemented on the missiles in-game. Additionally, if the missile is defeated by countermeasures, it should fly off on the last bogus heading it locked onto, not flying in a circle around the target..
^ The above is not my video, but provides excellent evidence of what I am referring to. This missile behavior is wildly unrealistic.
