Unable to change the mouse bindings as required to mouse for use in game. Upon selecting the action, the game does not accept the mouse command given and instead stays on the "please assign key or hold to erase" screen.

I am trying to change the ‘Mouse’ binding. Not keyboard binding and it does not accept the mouse input for the change. For example, I am trying to bind my side mouse button (Button 4 or button 5) to the gadget or specialist gadget function and Im not able to do that.
i was able to do this fine during the beta.
I have found that indeed clearing your cache in Documents/Battlefield2042 does indeed do the trick. Can now correctly bind my mouse and don’t get the stupid xbox controller popup
@EA_AticThank you for your acknowledgement of the issue. It is very frustrating as Half the reason I bought the Ultimate edition was to play asap. I have not yet managed to play 1 game as I cannot set my keybinds which are rather unique.
Is there a fix or something in the works?

Yes If I change any keybind in that mouse column it auto binds it to mouse 6 and I cant remove it unless I go back to default.
It says (Xbox Start Button (Three Lines)) to remove binds, I don't have a controller.
It is making the game unplayable.
Even going to default doesn't work... It's the same with my mouse... It's not bound to a specific brand. Needs to be fixed asap. Is actually a game breaking bug. & It was there in the Beta also!
