That's super weird... I assume you wouldn't be able to use it AS your soundcard, selected as your Windows device though? If it has no drivers. Or maybe Windows installs it's own driver that somehow isn't affected by EA... I don't know if I even wanna try that. Dice/EA just really need to get on this. I can't believe nobody has really acknowledged this pretty big problem yet, or said they're at least looking into it.
The interface can work without the driver but not correctly and you will not be able to manage the input/output/rooting and record with low latency.
It will be assign to the windows driver but you will not be able to manage the buffer size. It's like using it with asio4all in worse.
Anyway you need the driver to not lose what it is made for.
There is topic about this on the Focusrite forum.
Try to put the higher buffer size like 1024 to avoid sound problem if you use any interface (its not only focusrite) with the current s6 update.
