I dont think this is a bug, but rather a feature intentionally left out. Which is a ridiculous decision.
There does seem to be a related but where hits on vehicles have no hit marker full stop. So its hard to tell if you have actually hit or not at long range

@Dovamark definitely not intentional as this is vital to judge how many more hits e.g. a vehicle needs. E.g. if I hit a tank with 2 rockets and do can determine that I did enough damage that it is worth running out in the open and to sacrifice myself in the attempt to kill it with another one or some C5 or if it makes me just look stupid to run out and land just another hit with the tank driver killing me (and the rest of my team).
This was available in previous iterations, it is important and unless Dice completely lost touch with what a FPS needs (except the scoreboard, which also will surely come soon, most likely in the day 7 patch this Friday), it must either already be available and I missed to option to turn it on or it is a bug just for me (otherwise other people must have clicked 'me too').
