What I have to change to get Dolby Atmos on PC in BF2042?
Games like GRID (2019)/ THE DIVISION 2/ RESIDENT EVIL 2 works very well with Dolby Atmos for Home Theatre enabled. But this Game runs in 5.1. My height speakers are muted with/in this game. I tried AUTO and SURROUND, no difference between them.
For now ill check the DATA from SAVEDATA, this is a part from it what u can see above, all GstAudio stuff is posted, maybe DOLBY ATMOS has his own number? Which could it be? And which GstAudio?
I guess it is GstAudio.SpeakerConfiguration right?
Thanks so far for your time

Sony released Dolby atmos support recently.
I have a full 7.4.4 home cinema setup.
My findings:
Sony’s PS5 Dolby atmos sounds crap.
Sony’s atmos format doesn’t seem to utilise all speaker channels which is odd. It seemed that all I got was a sterio signal. This was the case with BF2042 and a couple of other games I tested.
However, if I switch the audio format on the PS5 to DTS, it sounds awesome. All speakers are alive and sound from the ceiling speakers is very apparent. I opt to use DTS Neural:X through my receiver. BF2402 sounds very dramatic.
I don’t watch movies through my PS5. I have a dedicated player for that. All movies I play sound awesome and sound formats and speakers behave as they should.
So, I don’t know where the fault lies..
Did Sony do a poor job at implementing atmos?
I also know that what they have added isn’t true atmos, but a variant of.
Or is there a compatibility issues between the console audio formats and the games themselves. I think yes.
in my opinion, the audio source is key. You can have an all singing and dancing setup, but if the audio source has been poorly executed (movies or games), you’ll always get poor results.
Games will need to completely code their audio to atmos or you’ll never get proper atmos.
For now, I’m 100% happy with DTS on the PS5. It seems to be 100x better than whatever Sony have done with their “atmos”.
