No players in lobby when crossplay turned off

I can not join a game of breakthrough since Christmas. Everytime I try I am assigned to Quake Squad and "Waiting for other players to join". Other players join, sometimes I have a full squad there waiting to play, but they give up after waiting a couple of minutes to join and leave one by one. Then we go back to the home screen and the cycle starts all over again. Lots pf times I'm the only one there. I have crossplay turned on.
