No servers available
I have not been able to play a game on Battlefield2042 for the last 3 days. No servers on Portal and not able to get into any Dice servers at all with players in them.
So I cleaned out the cache in C:\Users\<name>\Documents\Battlefield 2042\cache and I was able to turn on cross play (no longer greyed out).
And I see populated servers now.
Not sure if deleting the cache files did anything or if it is just a coincidence but it is working now.
@McGinterI have been having a similar issue in Australia. Playing regular Conquest mode puts me into an empty lobby. Exodus Conquest can usually find results (just the one active server, it looks like) so I'm guessing the freezing game/crashing server issues plus the launch of COD has bitten into the player count pretty hard.
We're at a 24 hour peak of only 4500 players globally - it was towards triple that a month ago. 2042 has lower player counts than either than BF1 and BFV (which has twice the players).
It's pretty heart breaking. Wish they would be more communicative about the issues so players struggling with it had more of a reason to come back after various updates, instead of bailing to other games right as we finally start getting decent gameplay fixes.
Edit: Correction - that's on Steam alone, which I think has been estimated to be about 25% of the player base for BF2042 but is probably a smaller proportion of BF4, BFV and BF1 which released on Origin first. So can't really be sure about player number comparisons - but the real 24 hour peak might be closer to anywhere from 16k - 20k players. Which would put the player base at something similar to RDR2 or Civ 6, at around #30 of top games for players. Which isn't that bad. Hopefully with the crashing fixed it'll go back up higher too.
