I have the exact same issue.
I upgraded from a RTX 3080 to a 4080 (Asus TUF) yesterday and I tried what you mentioned here and its exactly the same.
Playing in 16:9 works, but as soon as I go to 21:9 (3440*1440) the game crashes when I am boots on ground.
Does not happen in vehicles or on parachute.
Error ist "GetDeviceRemovedReason" and sometimes the graphics drivers are crashing.

@M4thisl @HedonismBot14 Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

@EA_Atic Thanks, I have attached my Dxdiag to this post.
For what it's worth, I can't find any correlation with whether ReBar is enabled in Bios, and Hardware Accelerated Graphics Scheduling in the Windows Graphics Settings. I have also tried reducing the power limit on the card which didn't help.
@M4thisl Well that's a relief to see someone else with the problem, I thought my combination of hardware would be a bit niche at this time for the game. Thanks for posting your experience 🙂 - 3 years ago
@EA_Atic I attached the dxDiag file to this post.
One thing to mention as its not in my dxdiag file i think, even if I think it has nothing to do with the error occuring is, that me and Hedonism use the same Monitor also (AW3423DW).
I really hope there will be a solution soon because I'd love to check out the new season 🙂
