Ever since Season 3 (and a gpu driver update) I have also gotten the Device Hung DirectX error. Saying my GPU was "unplugged"
Game will play fine for a few matches and bam, huge stutter. Loss of all audio for all applications. Sometimes the game recovers for a few seconds and then blackscreens both monitors and computer freezes requiring a reboot or potential recovery after game crash.
This is what I get in my Event Viewer when it happens:
The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
\Device\Video3
Error occurred on GPUID: 100
The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table
Asus Strix RTX 3080, i9-10900KF, 32gb 3600mhz DDR4 ram, running on SSD
Game is running Medium-High settings. Borderless on 1440p standard 27 inch monitor.
Tried - Rebooting / reinstalling newest GPU drivers
Edit: Added error I get and my temp/power info when it happened.

I just tried to use the "High" settings without custom changes and 70 FoV and I was able to play 3 games in a row.
As soon as I changes it to Ultra it crashed. Even just using High any other Setting on Ultra makes the game crash. Really weird.

Thanks. Using High preset is a workaround when using an FOV greater than 70. It doesn't crash.I hope it gets fixed so I can use Ultra preset though.
EDIT: Workaround only needed for one setting - Setting Terrain to High is all that's needed. Everything else can be Ultra and FOV any setting.

I seem to have these problems now since upgrading to a 4080. Played fine with everything maxed out on my 3080 with no issues whatsoever.
Recently added a 4080 and straightaway I have these issues. I'm fine of I stay in a vehicle. But as soon as its boots on the ground my game will crash. Tried the usual fixes including using DDU to reinstall drivers, trying out older drivers. The only thing that has helped so far is lowering my graphics. I actually manged to get through a whole game. Will test again soon to see if this has sorted it. But I didn't invest in a 4080 to play with anything but ultra settings. It's definitely a Battlefield problem as this is the only game it happens on.
I play on a wide-screen odyssey G9.
- Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace@Darth_Norm yes there is a workaround for it !
Read full topic would help ya already !
It seems FOV larger then 70 gives issues !
Display settings at High only would solve issues also !
And something with terrain display settings could solve yourw issues !!
So best way is set all to HIGH , and lower fov, keep in mind there is an known issue with the 40xx series GPU at this moment !
Keep up uptodate !
