Just an update a few months down the line - the problem stopped for the rest of that current season, then started again the next. I now just restart my computer if I want to play, I can make two or three rounds before it takes 10+ mins to continue loading into the next round, then I have to Alt+F4. battlefield will not work at all if I don't start battlefield after first logging in to Windows.
Again, nothing has changed my side, game produces error log which reads the same as it did 6+ months ago.
I can confirm that issue is still present for me; is 6.2 released yet? I'd like to note this seems to be focusing on the black screen pre / end round - whilst that was happening for me (when I can load into the game), my problem exists mostly when attempting to boot into the game. Today I played a couple of games, quit, attempted to load back in 15 mins later > hanging black window.
Try to remove DXCACHE again in the same way as before, but additionally remove them from the locations listed below (I found them today) (the files are in the folder, do not delete the folder itself!):
(delete them to the trash so that you can restore them in case of any problem)
Do not remove DXCACHE only from the two locations I have given now - it will not help, you also need to remove them from APPDATA as before.
It is possible that the last 2 patches that were released about 2-4 days ago were patches for EAAC only, not the game. I downloaded 2 patches, but I don't know what and how.
I can't say I saw a download for any minor patches, but then I wasn't looking.
Guess for the moment it's a case of waiting till early Dec. for release 6.2 to see if that resolves the black window error. My hopes aren't high though as this is described to attempt to fix black screen errors between rounds, not a crashed black window when initially loading in to the game- we'll see though.
havent seen any patch , not for game , not for eaac?
strange
yeah this black screen is random here.
sometimesd multiple a day.
or hours , even days no black screen at all.
and im testiong a lot with different settings and stuff.
i think its a combo game / eaac probarly (and additional info from nvidia could also be an +issue to)
And i got an another bios (beta) upgrade, first F28a , what fixed temps and some other stuf, F28b fixed some cpu issues and voice/ai stuff implemented?
Hey @hotproperty11, could you please DM me a winrar file of any potential files that may have been generated as a post-crash event under the following folder path: \Documents\Battlefield 2042\CrashDumps
After playing about 50 hours I've been getting a game crash pretty much as soon as I launch into the menu since about last week.
Crash Dumps say the same The instruction at 0x%p referenced memory at 0x%p. The memory could not be %s.
I ran Memtest96 and it told me I had bad ram. So I bought new RAM 32GB of DDR4 3600MHz it's fixed my crashing problem in all other games and everything else is stable.
Only when I launch BF2042.exe does it crash on initial load or on the menu and last night I managed to get into a game but then it crashed on exit. Since then I haven't been able to load into the menu without it crashing. I've re-installed windows too DDUed my drivers to old drivers then newer drivers clean booted SFC /scannow chkdsk.
Hi @BattlefieldDICEr, I haven't received a response to whether or not you've successfully received my logs - is there any progress towards this ongoing issue?
EA, as you can see, doesn't care about your problem, especially since the deadline for the possibility of returning cash has already expired - also the cash won't be lost. EA in general lately has a policy of experimentation in which they test how far they can go with players. Gaijin studio did the same thing until a certain point - the so-called breakthrough, when players poured out thousands of negative reviews and the cash stopped coming in because new players stopped coming in, then they let go and started to fix what they messed up (they only unscrewed some of the changes).
Also if you don't want to get upset then don't buy EA games until they change their approach to consumers.
I, for example, increased clocks from 4.3 GHZ to even 4.8 GHZ and FPS did not increase in total
(In BFV the increase in frames was 30 FPSรท50 FPS on the +, but in BF2042 no effect. Only the first 5 minutes of the match in 128-player mode showed a big FPS increase, then maybe I gained 5 FPS.),
because their super cool EA AC consumed all the extra mhz of CPU clock due to which performance did not increase even though RTX 2080 Super has nothing to do with BF2042 graphics, only sometimes it actually has 99% stress that is GPU will generate stable 144 FPS without any problem, but CPU will not manage because of unnecessary load that EA AC causes. As you can see EA AC is still used or not improved at all despite the reported bugs that every game that uses EA AC has a problem in the form of 100% CPU load. They blocked Riva tunner server & other OSD Monitoring softwares , to prevent the display of OSD monitoring of components while playing (in order to probably hide the game optimization problems).
Give it a break and look for another game. EA is not doing anything about it as you can see.
I, after buying BF3, which itself closed on multiplayer for no reason, let go of EA for 4 years and it worked out well for me. During that time when BF was running badly, I played myself a well-written and stable Call of Duty ๐ . It wasn't until Call of Duty gave up on 64-person servers and moved to 12-person boring rooms that I bought BFV on a trial basis, since BFV worked ok, I bought BF4 and BF1 (2016 year edition).
I bought BF2042 during the 80% discount to see if indeed this game is so misspelled. However, it is, also not surprised that it works as it does, and as you can see they are unlikely to correct it. Until they fix or remove EA AC, your problem probably won't go away.
I wouldn't be surprised if they would have already abandoned the project to fix BF2042, since quite a few players have already crossed that game off their purchase after its release (the so-called season 1), which had much bigger bugs and was very run-of-the-mill in terms of features. It didn't even have weapon classes or a table of player stats. As if it weren't for that foul EA AC, BF2042 Season 6 would probably have been perfect by now. Corporate politics ๐ you won't change it, corporations like to implement various kaizens and check their effects and very rarely admit their mistake and I don't want to mention the withdrawal of a bad idea , very often they would sooner declare bankruptcy than withdraw from a wrong decision.
BF2042 works better for me when I have it OFF (you can find it in the Nvidia Control Panel).
Thanks @DMGG1994 ; I am fully aware and not ignorant to the fact that no care is given by EA; It's more of a case of making it obviously public that posts are being ignored.
I certainly know that in most jobs if customer complaints were ignored then someone would be held accountable; and quite frankly it's embarrassing how poorly organised EA help / technical support is. This isn't the only game I play; please don't be misguided on what I'm asking here.
I'll keep posting and tagging until I get a response from @BattlefieldDICEr so please feel free to unfollow if it's no longer of interest to you, and if so thank you @DMGG1994 for your help and participation during the course of this thread.
I won't be purchasing future games released by EA, as customers we deserve better.
@hotproperty11 hmmm , unforunally i do not got this issue. I am not able to replicate it also. What i would do if it was my system (and i like to investigate and test systems), i would do this (just to test system / software):
I would disconnect all hdd's / ssd's from system. Install a just 1 empty ssd m and reinstall windows 10, update win10 and install a light load virus scanner. Then i would install headset/mouse software (maybe also keyboard software). Then download and install fresh / new BF2042 and update of course ๐ And finally then do AtlasOs installation.
This will disable/uninstall many software/services ect ect . Just for investigfation to see if this solve the issue. But HEY , i would do this just for investigation, to check if this is for any help.
Its not my system , i know , but i like to investigate for any issue. It will take an hour or 2 a 4 work to get this done, and not everyone would do this But if it was my system , i wanted to test and know what causes this issue !
Cheers man ! ๐ ๐
