[PC] My input freezes

Hellow folks,

Since last week I'm having this weird issue where it looks like that my input freezes for a few seconds randomly.
For example I'm sprinting in a straight line and I want to move left, but my character keeps sprinting straight for a few seconds. So my actual input is not working at all...... It looks like I'm lagging all over the place. I've never had this issue but now since patch 8.2 it occurs. I've played this game for a year now and never had any issues.
The problem is its happening randomly as well, when in an empty field, when in combat or when zoomed in with my sniper.

My PC specs are; Windows 11 pro - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - 32 GB RAM - Nvidea Geforce RTX 3060 - SSD with windows and game on the same SSD.
When playing the game CPU usage is about 40-50% RAM 50% and GPU 70%.....

The following things I've tried;
- Reinstalling the game
- Lowering graphics
- Future frame rendering turned off

Does anyone have the same problem? Or does anyone know something to try?

I've turned these on but there aint any packet loss.... All stay at 0% when my input freezes.

My CPU frame time looks rather steady aswell.....

I've allways been on a cable connection, I dont have this problem in other games.

And as I said I never had this before with BF 2042.

It's so annoying that I've stopped playing....

@OskooI_007 Mouse and keyboard.... so I keep walking in the line that i was moving in, and cant change direction nor look the other side.... The weird part is that the online game keeps running normally with other players moving around as they were.

I diddnt change anything with my PC, only thing i can pinpoint is the new patch 8.2

You stated this only happens in 2042 and doesn't happen with other games.

The only thing I can think to try is copy and pasting the 'Battlefield 2042' folder in 'Documents' to your 'Desktop'. This way you have a backup copy of the 'Battlefield 2042' folder on your Windows desktop.

Then delete the 'Battlefield 2042' folder in 'Documents'. This will reset all your game settings. Try playing 2042 and see if this fixes the missing inputs issue.

If it doesn't fix it. Then delete the 'Battlefield 2042' folder in 'Documents'. Then copy and paste the backup copy of 'Battlefield 2042' folder on your desktop back into the 'Documents' folder to restore all your settings.

Just tried this aswel but diddnt fix the issue sadly...

I'm really out of options and it gets more and more annoying

  • I have the same exact issue. Both Keyboard and Mouse lock up. Happens only in 2042 for now. Game seems to run normally while it happens.

There's a setting called 'raw input' under 2042's mouse and keyboard settings. It's worth a try.
