- @SHNARPHNASE Like I say I don't use DLSS so it won't make any difference to me as the change in the config file relates mostly to that. Thanks for your help, I do appreciate it.

Please post your system specs and any other info to this mega thread on CPU utilization issues if you think it could be a CPU related problem.

@EA_BlueberryI looked at the PC troubleshooting. The only thing that applied was to disable overclock. I had the GPU very conservatively overclocked 100 MHz to 1930 without any issues whatsoever. Disabling the overclock made no difference. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I have rolled back the driver to the last driver and it made no difference. Please look at my case above and think of possible solutions. As I have said this is the only game I have a problem with and I run all my games on high or ultra settings. I went from ultra to high on this game and it made no difference.
Originally I created this post as a bug report in the Bug Report section. It has apparently been moved to Technical Issues as part of another thread. I don't know how that happened. I tried to open my own thread in Bug Reports. Thank you.

That was me doing some housecleaning gathering related threads. Feel free to post it again if you need to. Here are my PC specs and DXDiag.
Ryzen 5900x
Nvidia 3080 Gaming Z Trio
32GB Corsairs Vengeance Dominator Pro 2x16GB CL16 3200Mhz Ram
M.2 970 Evo Plus SSD (1Tb)
Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero X570 Mobo
I've included my DXDiag.
I am running on Ultra, and at time gets anywhere between 80 fps and 120fps. This is a game that ran at 180 fps on Ultra without DLSS in BFV. I know it's a different engine, but I'm hoping for atleast 140-160 fps. I feel like there is still some more optimization that has to happen for different hardward.
On 1440p the FPS rises to about 120-140. The problem is my GPU utilization goes down to 70-85%, which tells me I need to be running it at Ultra settings, and in 4k.
CPU Utilization has been hit and miss. I think Dice fixed some thing from BFV, where I would always hit 80c on it, because of the AVx instructions. I'm not sure if BF2042 uses AVX, but I feel like my CPU isn't being used much at all with average utlization being 20-30%.
EA Blueberry do we know when a patch will be coming that addresses PC performance? Given that BF has always been a huge game for PC players, I'd hope Dice prioritizes us.

Just adding my name to this ever growing list of users with the same issue. Attached my dxdiag as well.
So far I tested ALL and when I'm happy that something improves, in other map/s or other session/s of the game all starts again. So far modifying the PROFSAVE_profile works, using cabled devices instead of wireless works and even using process lasso software to put BF2042 to use all as possible, but game uses only 8C from my 18C. What I do know is that on 1080p everything seems to be fine, above that and specially on 1600p like I am, it's a mess. You can use the in-game fps counter and stats and you'll see cpu on red many times, specially on heavy maps of snow, many soldiers and vehicles interacting along with explotions, and when you scope and log into the map it also stutters and cpu marks read, loosing 20FPS+
To be clear, noticeable sutter from all of us: All measured with in-game FPS tool no other overlays, all disabled even Origin and running from EA app beta
- When you enter the map (aereal view and then drop into it)
- Using the Scope (sniper for ex)
- Moving fast from one side to other
- Most heavy map is the Snow one (Aredennes Forest)
- Explosions, big crowds, etc
My rig:
Intel Core i9-7980XE 5GHz 18C/18TH HT OFF
ASRock X299 OCF
32GB (Quad Channel) DDR4-3800C15
2x M.2 NVME 4TB
RTX 3090 OC 2100/22404
SilverStone ST1500-TI PSU
X38P 3840x1600 G-SYNC
All Custom Water CooledAll has been tested Stock and OC in every component and nothing changes, FPS may increase but game will stutter as told above.
Hope it can be fixed, BF1 and BF5 suffered from the same issue and was never corrected, this is a great game and really looking forward for a fix in performance. Many TechTubers dedicated days of testing to show how CPU bound is on many AMD and Intel Systems with different GPUs.
Whatever you want to ask me to test I'm willing to help, I'm a hardware tester, overclocker and reviewer also.
All the Best, Sergio.
I have perfect GPU usage in menu and cutscene but when the round starts it drops down to 60-70% with reduction in FPS.
Specs:GTX1660Ti / Ryzen 5 2600X / 16 GB 3200hz Ram /250GB SSD/ WIN 11, I checked if there was any bottleneck in any of the cores but no one passes 90% usage and the average overall CPU usage is 75%.

This is a GAME issue.

I was getting 60 fps with dips to 45 fps, my specs are Ryzen 5 3600 + RTX 2070.
Now I'm getting 90 fps with dips to 60 fps and much smoother experience.
Here is what I did, I'm not sure which step helped, maybe all of them:
- Disabled DRS in profsave.profile
- Installed latest nVidia drivers
- Optimized game with nVidia GeForce Experience (this enabled DLSS on Quality mode, but you can disable it in game)
- Installed latest C++ Redistributable
- Changed power plan to AMD Ryzen High Performance
Try it, maybe it will also help you.
