Massive performance drop after the new update

FPS before update: 70-80 on High

FPS after update: 30-50. And the thing is there is no FPS difference between ALL LOW and ALL HIGH anymore.

Please help

My Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700

GPU: RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition

Ram: 16GB DDR4

Game installed on an M2 SSD

AMD RADEON driver version: 21.11.2 (latest)

All drivers up to date. Latest windows 10 version (21H2)

I have serious lag/performance issues I can't find how to resolve:

That's my setup:

- i5-11400H

- 8GB RAM

- RTX 3050

All GPU settings are at minimums, all drivers up to date. I even play windowed. Nothing else is running.

Connection is wired, 325mbps. Firewall disabled, router reseted, connection checked.

Game is just unplayable, connection is yellow at best, red most of the time.

Please advise?

Really just don't get it. . . . .

So I recently gave my wife my old PC.

CPU is an AMD FX8350, with 16 GB DDR3 RAM and a GTX 980 and upgraded to an i7 3770k OCed to 4.2 with 16 GB of RAM and a GTX 1070 ti.

Game runs like absolute garbage on my machine.......literally will not reach above 20 FPS at all and runs like a slide show.  She averages a good 35-45 FPS and runs smooth as better.  Regardless of GPU settings.

What in the hell is wrong with this game.....

Product: Battlefield 2042
Platform: Windows 10
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 4700g

GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060 Super

RAM: 32gb 
running from t7 usb ssd: could this be why? my usb ports? i have mics/cams for streaming.(not streaming while playing though)

i get frame rate drops no matter what setting or resolution. i didnt expect to play this on ultra or anything, but at least get a stable 60 fps at 1440p like all other games i have. i can get it to hover around 60-70 on 1080p but the cpu fps still spikes. (in the game overlay, not task manager)

the more i play this the more it bugs me when the frame rate goes crazy, but im new to pc gaming and could also have overlooked something.
I used the in game graphs and fps thingy and the only thing that stands out to me is a huge cpu spike . GPU looks ok, i guess?

Ive had all on low settings/lowest res with dlss on performance and still get horrible fps. screen tearing

Any other game would send my gpu or cpu usage up to 100% in task manager based on what i select. this game doesnt hit 100% gpu or cpu and my ram was max 20gb

things ive tried-
profsave_profile(changed shadows to 0)
windows power/performance settings
geforce optimized (actually running it lower than suggested)
vsynce on/off, full screen/borderless

at this point i just want to make sure if its my pc or the game. getting sick of playing in the graphics menu evertime i play.


Any help would be amazing, like i said im new to pc gaming and for years have just powered on the console and not worry about the fine tuning stuff.

so i played around with settings yesterday as well as playing different modes.
-turned image scaling on.

-locked to max 60fps in nvidia control

had a great experience playing tdm, only frame/cpu fps drops were when respawning. or scene/camera change.

A match on bf1942 map (portal) was also great. I also had a conquest match against bots with no fps drops at all.

The big team warfare (multiplayer) modes are horrible for frame rates and hit detection really bad.
even shooting through players, or players are actually  just frozen.

-then i turn on the game today and the settings are different.

There is a work around that works. Open the command console after starting the game and enter: Render.DynamicResolutionMaxStepcount 1. FPS will immediately resolve to the best your system can do. You will have to do this every time you play until EA works that out.

So second update came out yesterday. Not much changed.

Anything when to expect a fix?

hey...I got i9 10900K with rtx3080, medium setting with dlss set to performance I only get 130 max.....
