I just spun up a server from xbox, no vpn, location Europe. As you can see in attached screenshot, an EU server pings at 61ms, but my server is pinging 120ms. Upon inspection (screenshot2), we can see the server has spun up in Asia.

Did you experience high ping right after starting the server?
This may not be relevant but it doesn't hurt to check your account region as well, just to be on the safe side.
- 3 years ago@Tarzain12 I have 2 game licenses, one on pc, one on xbox. So as soon as I spun up the server on xbox, I refreshed the portal server browser on pc and saw this 122ms ping. I then shutdown server, booted it up again using exact same process, and this time was in EU with 56ms ping. It doesn't happen every time, maybe 1 in 3 times. Also I don't know if this affects persistent servers. For example, if my persistent server has 0 people on it and is sitting on 56ms ping, when a player in lets say New York joins, is it correctly allocating a server in US data centre, or is it spinning up in Asia maybe. Will need to test further to see if this is the case.
