PS4 Controller on PC mapping issues

Hi All,

i've just purchased Battlefield 2042 through Origin and having issues with my controller. When I go in to the game the camera instantly looks down and runs around in a circle, non of the buttons correspond and the game is c completely unplayable. So far I have attempted the following fixes.

Amending the button mapping- The game does not recognise individual buittons and mapping multiple actions to one button

Adding the game to steam- Steam is recognising the PS4 controller but same issue with the game

Connecting via Bluetooth

Wired  connection- only way I can get this to work. 

I'm stumped?

    OK so I've resolved it. To play with s controller I need to open origin through steam. I've also unbind all of the keys and re mapped the controller.

    Then you to ask the suggestions

    Hi @jimbost170, 

    When you have the chance can you try setting up a Clean Boot on your PC before you launch the game to see if that makes any difference? 

    You can find more details on how to set one up over at the EA Help website. Once you have the chance to give it a shot please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

    @jimbost170 for the camera looking down issue, have you tried removing the binds in the Keyboard and Mouse area for those specific functions just to make sure there's no conflict?

    @EA_Kent Hi, thank you for the suggestion. I've done a clean boot and still no luck. I have found that if I run origin through steam I get some controller functionality but still not playable

    @jimbost170 In theory, you would need to remove all binds in each category within the M&K area. That would essentially eliminate M&K factor

    Did you have the chance to try unmapping the keybinds? Are you still running into any of the same issues?
