I will be in the middle of a match and then my PS5 will just shut off.
This has never happened on any other PS5 game.
I have tried clearing cache and rebuilding database, but the issue continued.
When it shuts off I cant just press the power button to turn it back on, I have to remove and plug in the power cable again. Then it will turn back on.
The console is well ventilated, not close to anything.

I play on PC, but anytime I hear that a device powered off in the middle of a game, 2 primary causes come to mind. Either power delivery is failing, or the CPU is overheating. In modern PC's though overheating would just cause the CPU to throttle down. One thing I would try though is to look at where your PS5 is physically sitting. Does it have good airflow around it? Is it sitting fairly enclosed or in a cramped location with poor airflow? Just as a test, maybe move it to a more open spot and put a desk fan on low aimed at it just to see if you can tell if heat is a factor. Something Turning off on its own is either going into some damage preventative mode, or power delivery is failing. When I have worked on PC's that are dieing on their own like this it sometimes turns out, for example, to be that the powersupply is going bad. A device just powering off though will typically be some type of hardware reaction or failure.

Summarize your bug My game randomly freezes before it shuts down completely. Takes me back to the PS5 homescreen without showing any error message. Happens EVERY match. Getting absolutely sick and tired of it.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? No clue. No error message is shown.
What happens when the bug occurs? My game crashes and I return to the PS5 homescreen.
What should be happening instead? I should be able to continue playing.
Please fix soon. Otherwise I might have to decide to ditch the game until further notice.
Hi since early access my ps5 has powered down randomly while playing BF2042. I haven't had any issues with other games doing it, it's only been bf2042. During matches it just shuts down and I can't power back on unless I remove the power cord and plug it in which could damage console. Some times I can go for a while other times it's 15 to 20 minutes into the game session.
This started with early access last week, happened twice during early access but today it's happened 3 or 4 times. Tried playing another game for 2 hours straight and nothing. Plus my kids have been using the ps5 nonstop for other games and totally fine.
Anyone else seen this?
@stannoplan relieved to know that there are others suffering from the issue. So far I tried switching DNS settings manually, 5 (digital) reinstalls and hard-resetting the console.
DNS switch seemed to work for a couple matches, but all the same in the end. After hard-resetting the game crashed immediately when I was finished calibrating again, so that was that lol.
Sincerely hope the issue is addressed quick because I cant seem to stop myself from playing due to the huge potential this game has. I just don't want to end up having to visit the doctor for high blood-pressure concerns as a result of this bug lol.
Hit one today on my 3rd game I was on kaleidoscope but it's happened in different levels conquest and breakthrough
