RAM XMP / OC CRASHES MY GAME

Yeah so basically i found the culprit of why my system kept crashing / kick me off the game to the main menu every 10 - 15 minutes, when i ran my ram at default speed ( no xmp no nothing ) at 2666mhz it ran just fine

its just really frustrating that i cant use the intended speed of my ram at its highest potential, and it only happened in this game and not any other title, as i didnt see any other thread discussing this i decide to make one myself

**SYSTEM SPECS**
Ryzen 7 5700X

RTX 3070

KLEVV DDR4 BOLT XR Series PC28800 3600MHz 2X16 GB | Timing: 18-22-22-42

BF2042 Running on 512 gb NVME M.2

Any fix ?
Thanks

  • Running XMP on DDR5 here just fine.  No problems with crashing for me.  Some RAM just doesn't like XMP/overclocking.

@MADMAC50K ive used 2 different ram's while discovering this problem
and both of em did the same thing,
  • Yep same issue here i have crashes and kick from server so yeah its bit shame that i can t use fully potencial of my ram speed (3600) so i set it manually to 3200mhz and game run fine now

  • can you go into bios and manually set the timings? at least that way you get full speed without the xmp

If memory is shown as supported in your MB white sheet, then check if you have a BIOS update for the MB.

If you don't feel comfortable updating your BIOS have a repair service, do it for you.

@aFemz  Its very important to check if RAM and CPU are compatible with each other , check the QVL at website motherboard (select correct CPU) and look for the PART ID NUMBER from youre current ram !
If ya cant find number then ram is not tested with this board (or tested and not compatible <-- couild be the issue with XMP settings).
Ot could give BSOD , or just bad files everytime (if ya use SFC /SCANNOW)

Also make sure ram is set in dual channel mode,  if ya got 2 sticks installed, most motherboards get dual channel enabled if ya use ram ports A2 and B2 <-- check manual !!!!!!!!!

    Cheers
