Ranger Follow Command Rarely Works

Summarize your bug Instructing Ranger to go somewhere specifically, and then telling it to start following you again doesn't work. You must continue to provide directions. Perhaps 75-90% of the time?
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1 - Call in Ranger 2 - Instruct Ranger to move to a particular location using commorose and E [GO TO] command. 3 - Repeat action to move to another location. 4 - Instruct Ranger to follow you using commorose and [E] + [E] FOLLOW command.
What happens when the bug occurs? Ranger won't follow and you must continue to instruct it where to go until the Ranger or you die. Game thinks the double tapping is a single tap and acts as another GO TO command.
What should be happening instead? The Range should start following automatically again until instructed otherwaise.

Very frustrated with the inability to ask the Ranger to FOLLOW you again much of the time.  I often get killed trying to give it new directions when I'm moving locations.

I've tried many variations of slow/fast double pressing the E key but I can only get it to FOLLOW maybe once per round if I call in multiple Rangers.

    @OmniFaceMan Yes, this continues to be an issue. I'm on PC and I'm holding down Q followed by a quick E+E and the ranger isn't asked to follow. It almost always just tells the ranger to go to the location your crosshair is pointing at.

    I've faced this exact problem for a long time as well. It makes me very reluctant to order Ranger to a location unless I know I'll want him to stay there permanently, because it's very unlikely I'll be able to order him to follow me again. 

    And it's such a weird bug because every once in a blue moon the follow order does work, but there is no apparent predictability to it, and I can try it 10+ times in a row with no success.
