@simomorte You cannot crossplay the PS5 version with the PS4 version, make sure you are running the PS4 version of the game and try and play with him, see if that works for you.

Oh I see, that’s a shame but I also understand the complication to link the two versions, being that they are so different. Thank you for your response.
I'm on ps5 and my friend is on the new Xbox and we can't find each other
I just had this same issue. On Xbox for some reason it installed both the base Xbox one version of the game and the upgraded Series X version. You have to go to manage game and add-ons, then click on see in Microsoft store and if you own the upgraded version it should allow you to launch the X|S version.
Idk why they made it where both editions installed but yoi should be able to uninstall the base Xbox one version.
