Re: Battlefield 2042 crashes and wont start

Same issue, game display EAC load screen then shuts down.

No error message.

I was able to play for 3 hours at first. But because of in game error messages I tried to repair the game files(before I knew these issues where server side as confirmed by EA).

After that the game simply doesn’t launch.

Tried to uninstall and install again - no luck

Used DDU and installed gpu drivers again - no luck

Now Im trying todo do a complete reinstall of windows and the game.....freaking 3rd time Im downloading today.

Same kind of issue happened recently to BFV when Dice deployed a client side update for the new Intel cpu’s(12th gen). BFV would not launch either until a day or two later and I expect they did a new update to fix the no launch issue before that was resolved.

This needs to be addressed asap

    I also tried running as admin, running Easy Anti cheatr installer as admin and repairing, disabling my antivirus etc.

    Now I'm just mad, because it shouldn't be this hard.

  • I have this same exact issue. Happened during the beta too and I never was able to get it to work. I had a feeling this was going to be an issue still. I have reinstalled windows and tried running it and still get the anti-cheat loading screen black 1/4 of a window and crashes. No crash dump in documents or anything to reference. Between this and the GTA * show of a launch. I am never pre-ordering a game again this bs is stupid and inexcusable tor companies to release products like this.

    For Christ sake fix your freaking software.

    Now the game throwes an error message that too many computers have tried to access this accounts version of bf 2042 just because I reinstalled windows and loaded default settings in bios, to see if this solved the issue.

    I think the EAC software and limitations to configure your hardware and system might be what is bugging this game for me.

    I ran the game fine at first with afterburner and rtss to test performance. And it might have been that after disabling rtss the EAC wouldn’t let me play again.

    In the beta I wanted to test the game without SMT but then the game suddenly wouldn’t launch, so it might be sort of the same thing, triggered by system changes....

    Im glad Dice implemented a rather strict anti cheat system, but setting up your cpu/ram/gpu shouldn’t trigger this, and neither should reinstalling windows.

    And if this is it....it would have been nice to get a warning that EAC doesn’t allow you to do bios/oc software changes.



    But you let me play BFV from the new win install and bios change......so it’s not origin but BF2042/EAC that does this

    I mean I am a programmer  and I work from this PC, so I have a * of stuff running in the background and I cannot possibly reinstall Windows just to run this game.

    I don't overclock my CPU, only GPU but only slightly and no overlays or FPS counters (RTSS).

    I know Im a **** but I have been trying to get this game to work for the last couple of hours and Im more than a bit tired...

    TLDR wait and hope that it resolves.....and it seems new win install, bios/oc software changes are counted as hardware changes by EAC, as EA claim that I have used 5 computers to access the game when the game have only been installed on one computer.

    Im still able to access other games so this is a BF2042 issue only.

    • I have not changed hardware either, but I have done changes in the bios as I wanted to install and try the game on a stock computer so it wasnt the oc causing the no boot in the first place
