Re: BF2042 CPU Running At 100% Constantly For No Reason

So I don't have the 100% CPU usage issue but got all the fps problems in this thread. My CPU AND GPU both run in the range of 30 - 50% without any cfg tweaks (8 threads). RAM runs at 40%. Getting 40 - 70 fps under mid setting 1440p. Tried changing the default 8 threads from 1 - 16 in cfg, did impact CPU usage (~20%) but nothing helped fps.

Have literally tried everything else in the past 591 posts and nothing works. I have a R9 5980HS + RTX 3080 Mobile (eGPU) + 32G dual channel. Mobile set up I know but it's definitely capable of producing more than this sadness.

Now I hate to sound unhelpful, but as a player, having to try this hard to fix a game to begin with is just a shame.

@SixZer0Seven in the full update notes below the message, in "Renderig" section they say "addressed a variety of visual flickering and stuttering issues".
    Here we are maybe...

So, i refunded the game now. I dont let them play with my mood anymore. I woke up everyday with a hope that there is a new thing to fix this. I give up and will not wait any longer for updates.
I think thats the smartest way to get done with this BS.
Its really a HUGE shame that BF2042 launched like that.
And they cant even fix it already. I know that DICE is not the problem.
Its EA! So no blame on DICE here. We can clearly see on Social Media's that they care about us but EA doesnt.

If u struggle with this insane performance issue, then just refund it.
Its not worth our energy and most important TIME.
They basicly scamed us. Good job EA u done it again :D

Look guys this game needs 8 cores, it uses all 8. So if you have a 4 core or 6 core yes CPU usage is going to be high and bottle neck you GPU which is also needing work done from the CPU..  I have ran this game on 6, 8 and 12 cores, my 5800x ran at 30% to 40% CPU usage. My 5900x is around 20% to 30% CPU usage, as for my intel I7 8700k was at 70% to 90% usage with a 5ghz overclock. I know after I played the demo I needed to upgrade, as long as your video card is within the last two gens you should be fine. But if your CPU is less then 8 cores and you want to play in 128 man servers, then CPU upgrade is the best idea. This isn't the only game like this, World of Warcraft is not very GPU heavy. But be in a major city on when a new expansion comes out and see you a CPU usage jump way up to the roof. This is due to the amount of players in the server with you and around you, all this work falls on the CPU. Anyways hope this clears up a few things when it comes to hardware or the need to upgrade, good luck guys and hope to see you in the game soon.

A quick update after todays patch. I noticed slight improvement when playing AOW but nothing crazy - with that said I now get INCREDIBLE performance in the official Rush mode on 2042 maps they added in Portal

This will be my new mode to play as it runs and plays 1000x better than all out warfare and breakthrough

That'd be fine but EA's stated minimum requirements posted before release are as follows:

    MINIMUM PC REQUIREMENTS:
    OS: 64-bit Windows 10
Processor (AMD): AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Processor (Intel): Core i5 6600K (Comparison)

    Memory: 8GB
    Video Memory: 4GB
Graphics card (NVIDIA): Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (Comparison)
Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon RX 560
    DirectX: 12
Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
    Hard-drive space: 100GB

My PC runs i7-7700k (4.2ghz), 32 gb ram, GTX 1080 8gb, game is installed on an EVO M.2 SSD. There's no reason my CPU should be screaming at 100% while my GPU is below 2% during an AOW match. Clearly, we have an issue with utilization. Unfortunately I wish more people experienced what I experience so they would be in more of a rush to fix it.
