Re: BF2042 mid-game crash on PS5

@EA_Kent When the game shuts down I get the PS5 error-codeCE-108255-1. I already reset my console, though. This has not helped.

Upon opening the BF2042 application again the unknown error code 2:2600/J pops up. 

So far this is al I have encountered. 

Is the only issue now to maybe apply for a replacement console, or can they fix it through a patch/update?

Do you mean that you factory reset your PS5? 

@EA_Kent  yes this was a factory reset! Was hopeful it would help but subsequently after recalibrating the BF2042 settings (so not in-match) the game crashed again.. 

Hello, I realized you might help. My ps5 crashes all of the sudden when I play BF2042. Just turns off my ps5 completely and I have to unplug the system just to turn it back on. It repairs itself many times now because of it. Can play a match maybe two but it will crash. I don’t know what to do?

Do you have BF2042 installed on an external drive, or is it saved to the drive that was built into the PS5? 

@EA_Kent  it is installed on the built-in drive! I also tried deleting the game data and reinstalling the game entirely, but again without success. To my knowledge I have tried everything possible..

In some cases crashes like this can actually point to connectivity issues as well. Do you mind if we try out some connectivity troubleshooting to see if that makes any difference? 

A good place to start out would be with the basic connectivity steps from the EA Help website. If you're still running into crashes after that please let me know. Thanks! 

@EA_Kent I already checked whether connectivity issues were the case, but this unfortunately did not solve the problem ☹️ 

I really feel like there is an internal bug in the game or my hardware just isn't up to par (which I highly doubt because BF2042 is the only game that keeps crashing). 

Any other things that I can try? I feel like I have tried everything possible, though.

Do you have another PSN ID saved on the same console? If so, what happens if you launch BF2042 through the other account? Does it still crash? I'm curious if this only happens on one specific account. 

Game crashes to dashboard after 2 or 3 games also. But I have noticed it always happens mid game when I click on view squad/leader board every single time. Note: the game works fine after it reboots its like its an initial warm up to the game and it crashes then its fine after. 

And I have good connection and speeds. There is no error code though it just does this without any errors.

Hi thanks for replying. No only play on Series X. It's happening mostly on breakthrough and very rarely on conquest. Also it never happens on portal or hazard zone just to narrow it down. Thanks

@EA_Kent I bought the game with a friend and he shared it with me, so his account is on my console as well. I tried his account and the game did not crash in one game. Thinking that I found the solution I bought the game with my account to see if there possibly were some licensing issues or something causing the crashes.

The subsequent 3 games I was able to play without issues but after that the crashes came back. Immediately applied for a refund.

It happens on all accounts on the PlayStation 5 I am also a victim of this problem 

I too am continuously experiencing the game freezing and then crash since day 1 of the release.  I have been a long time fan of BF and this is the worst experience I have ever had with any BF game since OG BF2142.  I have factory reset PS5, uninstalled the game multiple times and this still happens.  This is not a PS5 issue as it does not crash on any other game.  And of course no answers or fixes is UNSAT for a game I paid $90 for; And yes I was expecting bugs but this continuous freeze and crash is UNSAT EA.  Please stop all the generic canned answers and fix the darn game!!  And no, I don't want a refund as I will Always be a Battlefield Fan, I just want the game to function as intended!
