Re: Can't connect to BF2042 EA servers

The error I am getting is “Unable to connect to EA servers”, and it happens pretty much every time I click “X” to connect to online at the main boat screen or as soon as I get into game. I am connected to my router directly via Ethernet, and my mbps is usually 80-90, so it isn’t a connection issue.

Also, I sometimes receive an error when I start up the game the first time I click “X”, displaying a red box in the top right hand corner saying “Unknown Error”.

PSN tag is The3ACONATOR and I play on PS5.

I am curious if setting a different DNS on your PS5 would make any difference. I've run into some cases in the past where that can help with similar issues. You can update the DNS on your PS5 using the following steps:

1. Open your PS5 Settings

2. Select Network

3. Select Set Up Internet Connection

4. Choose Set Up Manually

5. Choose WiFi or LAN Cable depending on what type of connection you're using

6. Select DNS

7. Enter 8.8.8.8 as the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 as the Secondary DNS. This is the public Google DNS, but I've seen some people mention that using the public Cloudflare DNS can help (Primary DNS: 1.1.1.1)

8. Select Done

Hello,
I am having the same issue and followed all the steps outlined above and still cannot connect to EA servers on my PS5.

I re-installed the game and attempted multiple DNS configurations.

are there any remedies? The game is unplayable for me.
