Just to confirm, are either you or your friend using a child account? 

As someone who is having the same issues, can't find my friend via EA ID search on Battlefield 2042, and he is one the newest Xbox and I'm on PS5 and we have both made sure we have cross play on, how do you know if an account is a child account.

Along with the game I can't find him on the EA app for PC. Any solutions would be much appreciated.

It would be based on the date of birth that's registered on either the console account or the EA Account. You should be able to see that under the account details. 

So we both have adult accounts and I found him on the ea app but when I put the exact account name into the game nothing. I can see other Xbox names but not his. And the same thing is on his side, he can’t find me.

No we arent. we figured out the issue though. we are on PS4 while they are on PC. PC can only play with PS5 and Xbox of the same generation as the PS5. PS4 can only play with PS4 or the generation of Xbox as the PS4. i do want to know why a PC player cant play with all of them?

The PC version of the game uses the higher player count in servers like the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The previous gen consoles don't support the higher player count, so I'm afraid they can't play cross-play with PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X.

Could the pc version in the future be updated so that they can choose to play with ps4 or ps5? i know with the Ps5 you can download the Ps4 version and play with people on the 4 while you play on the 5. so could pc not have a similar feature on startup?

I haven't heard if there are any plans to make that an option in the future, but it is something we've heard feedback on. We'll continue passing along feedback on this as we see it.

Just to confirm, you're able to find them in the EA App using their Xbox Gamertag, or using their EA Account ID?

What is your friend seeing from their side? Are they having the exact same issue when they're trying to search for you?

I'm having this issue as well. Both friends are on PS5 and Xbox S. 

All adult accounts and I cannot find them, they cannot find me. We have tried usernames, emails, etc.

Can't find son's account not a kid's account either.  He can't me!  What is the answer to fix this?

Can i that play on pc xbox gamepass / EA Windows 11 play with my friend on Xbox One Gamepass. ?
