- @EA_Barry I have not overclocked my RAM.
Hi,
I fix this issue.
i have a 3080 aorus xtrem and i clock the graphic card with aorus engine.I decrease the clock to 1905 MHz from 1800 mhz and i have no crash since 3 days.
I have the same problem. Getting two different directX errors. Device hung and device removed. Tried like 15-20 different solutions, nothing does anything to fix it. Attatched error messages and a dxdiag readout.
- @BadGanja59 How can you fix this issue if you have a 3080, and I have a 6900?
Then, you overclocked your GPU, I didn't overclock mine.
How can your overclocked 3080 solve the problem with my not-overlocked 6900? Hi,
I never overclocked my GPU.If i compare with the Nvidia 3080 founder edition with the 3080 Aorus Edition, we are the difference between the clock.
For the Nvidia 3080, the base clock is 1400 Mhz
For the 3080 Aorus xtrem, the base (and boost) clock it 1905 Mhz.
That mean Aorus have already overlock the GPU.
What is exatly the name of preparator of your 6900 ?
MSI, GIGABYTE, Other ?
To solve this error for me, i have not overcloked my GPU. I do a clock => 1905Mhz to 1800Mhz.
That mean : I reduce the basis clock for Aorus
- @BadGanja59 "i have a 3080 aorus xtrem and i clock the graphic card with aorus engine." My apologies. With that sentence I understood that you overclocked your GPU.

That is my GPU. Tried setting a lower clock speed for the GPU, and I got a pretty similar error.
@GenshZero No worry 🙂
Thanks for the link. For your AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT
By AMD (Founder Edition) :
- Game Frequency : 2015 Mhz (Boost to 2250 Mhz).
By XFX Speedster (Your GPU) :
- Game Frequency : 2325 Mhz (Boost to 2495 Mhz)
We have a difference between the founder and your.
Try to reduce your frequency between 2325Mhz and 2015Mhz.
- Try 2300 Mhz, if not work, reduce more (per 50 or 100 Mhz).
For AMD to change your Speedclock, use the AMD Radeon Software : Performances :

- @BadGanja59 Thank you, I will try that!
You welcome.
I hope work for you.
- @BadGanja59 Unfortunately, it didn't. I had it as low as 2015Mhz, and still had the same issue.
Thank you for the help though, I appreciate it! <3 I have literally tried 25+ different fixes at this point, and I am * done. Zero word from Dice on this * that I paid so much money to play test for them apparently. What a waste of time, life and money. Not bothering with this crap game anymore.
- @EA_Barry Can you please provide further support? Yours was unhelpful.
Having this same problem with RTX 3090 and AMD 5950x.
Things I've tried so far that haven't fixed the issue:- Setting GPU power target to 90%.
- Reinstalling graphics drivers to newest version.
- Reinstalling graphics drivers to oldest version that battlefield supports.
- Updating windows 10 to newest version available.
- Disabling additional monitors.
- Reinstalling battlefield 2042
- Turning off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in windows settings.
- Disabling XMP profile for ram.
None of these have resolved this issue, and I'm only having this error in Battlefield2042.
Driver timeouts or game crashes may be experienced by some users while playing Battlefield™ 2042 on some AMD Graphics products such as Radeon™ RX 6900 XT Graphics.
Worth to try new AMD driver.
- @LlamaWithKatana Tried another driver, did the same for the beta, sadly hasn't worked. And given the amount of variety in hardware that is experiencing this bug it has to be an engine issue I'd say, either way I hope there is a solid fix for this asap, waste of money so far unfortunately.
Battlefield 2042 Update #1 (ea.com)
patchnotes for upcoming patch. No DX error even acknowledged.
- @LlamaWithKatana Well..thats frightening. They can't expect us to put up with this for 30 days or more, and I can't even refund at this point. Baffles me that they are keeping this issue quiet, guessing they just have no idea for a fix.
@1almightyspud1Seems the lates Nvidia driver that came out yesterday fixed it for me ive had no crashes since then
- LordXOne4 years agoNew Adventurer@Slaughtter The fact that you went to the trouble of disabling additional monitors, reinstalling BF 2042 and lowering your GPU power...That's a lot of effort for troubleshooting, and I wouldn't expect any credible AAA game to say any of those are expected 'fixes' just to be able to play.
Fingers crossed that a patch comes out so that it just 'works'. - @LlamaWithKatana that really sucks man, omg EA what are you doing ☹️ totally dissapointed.
- @1almightyspud1 diable Sundance. Or put a hat on it so no curlies are around. That would elevate a lot of gpu crashes.
- @LordXOne even triex downclock memory and different driver versions.
- @LlamaWithKatana Doesn't surprise me one bit. They've not even properly acknowleged the issue here. Also tried contacting via Twitter. And the sad part, it's as if they have no clue this is even going on.
- @JaGes666 you could try reach EA stuff via BF discord. There are plenty of them hanging. And I do have feeling they are not even aware that there is an issue outside skins and animations.
