@SubSonix  I think you just better play in SDR directly than doing this. I think you are advicing to use the worst case display scenario

How so? It just-renables HDR in game to it's correct setting, I don't see how it's any different to how your process works, just easier.

You sure it's not just washed out SDR content output in HDR? Some reported that kind of fix work while it seems to not work for me and others, but maybe?

To be sure, i recommend Nikkmann's technique. You can monitor the differences easily like i posted earlier.

Also, if you can't access the HDR Calibration Option in game, that means HDR is disabled (The options is not greyed out but try to click on it...)

And if the brightness slider in HDR Windows options (35 by default) have ANY effect on your GAME, HDR IS NOT WORKING.

So you sure about this?

I'm 100% sure, it looks exactly the same using both methods.

This is an Nvidia driver vs Windows issue !
Need to activate HDR in Windows and then activate HDR Ingame!

You are dead wrong.

Go back and READ the bug report - I am the one that submitted it. I am using an AMD GPU.

Fact: HDR broke for both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs immediately after 4.2.0 was released.

I have tried all of the “workarounds” and nothing has worked. HDR was broken with update 4.2.0 and DICE needs to fix this. I am using a 5800x with a 4090 at 4K on the PG27UQ. Every other game is gorgeous looking except for 2042. It’s such a shame that DICE won’t even tell us they are aware of it. Something has to give here. I can’t even play the game it’s so bad. I am constantly shooting at teammates because I can’t even see their names due to massive blown out lighting.

The fact that you assume we don't already have HDR turned on says a lot about you.

I don't use AMD or a TV.

The game is at fault. Everything was 100% fine until 4.2.0 released.

Still blown out and washed out hdr. DICE WTF!!!!!

Ok so I got a new monitor (PG32UQX) and I noticed when I fired up 2042 my HDR slider was back to normal. Not sure if there was an update or what but it looks pretty good right now. Lmk if it’s working now for u guys.

Nope still not working. The famous dice approach of lets just let it figure it's self out on it's own hasn't worked. Looks like crap still and sliders are all off. Only game to do this. Holding my breath it gets fixed but we all know dice. They can't even microwave popcorn without messing that up let alone an hdr bug that's going on 3 months soon of being broken.

In addition, we had some very bad storms recently and lost power multiple times.... EVERYTHING has been shutdown / disconnected.

As a reminder - HDR works fine on this monitor in EVERY game except 2042.

HDR used to work in BF2024 UNTIL patch 4.2.0.

This has happened to MULTIPLE people across MULTIPLE makes and models of monitors and has affected BOTH AMD and NVIDIA GPUs. 

problem seems to be fixed with the newest patch

Lucky you. Still broken on my end. Log in once a week just about to check it and it's still broken. 

that's strange really, do you have 5.0.1 installed?
