It really is the GeForce Experience overlay that is causing the crash after the 4.0 update, I reinstalled the GE Experience and the game crashed after 5 minutes.
update 4.0 and GeForce Experience overlay are not getting along lol - Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace@JasonVoorHeesxD you could try to use DDU to delete all nvidia drivers.
Pre download latest nvidia driver and ddu first
Now disconnect from internet/network
then uninstall nvidia software with windows / apps
then boot into windows safe mode and use DDU to remove all nvidia related drivers / file / folders / registry keys
reboot but do not connect with internet / network
install the pre downloaded nvidia driver
reboot
reconnect internet / network
test game
cheers - JasonVoorHeesxD3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Rokebo73 No need, driver is fine problem is Nvidia overlay
Rokebo thank you for your help , I'm not going to bother with what you have suggested above , I can play the game without using the Nvidia overlay at the moment , I don't have any other issues with the overlay in any other games just 2042 since the update , for everyones info I am using the latest Nvidia driver.
Will just wait for a fix , shame the EA dev's don't bring us up to date with issues and working on it ?
Sometimes the game will load with no sound also ? I'm having to click on the icon in task bar to jolt it to get the sound working ?
thanks again Rokebo
