Re: (Solved) There is a problem with your game setup, please reinstall

Anyone else getting this? I 've multiple installs but no luck, tried verifying files and other threads. I do have two BF2042 in my origin if that helps, one is standard and the other is the trial one for 10 hours.

I have the same problem. Cant launch the game. Have you figured out something?

  • I have the same issue (Own on Steam, purchased after the release of "early access") EA Help wants me to uninstall and attempt to launch the game in this specific way "Once installed, launch the game from your Recently installed list under My games and apps > Manage > Queue. Don’t launch the game from your game library or it will try to open the pre-ordered version again, which is locked until November 19th (Standard Edition)."

Problem is, I have the Ultimate edition. I will attempt to launch the game in the way that he recommends. But for some reason I have a hunch that since I purchased after the release of "early access" I will be unable to actually launch the game until the 19th. I've already verified game files, uninstalled and reinstalled once, verified C++ Distributables, verified EAC installed correctly, verified Win10 up to date (Version: Windows 10 Home).

This will be the last attempt to fix before I ask for a refund.

Got the Standard Version in XBOX Market, announce with Early Access. XBOX Support Resetted my Purchase, my Console and let me Download the Game a couple times, but then on EA Dice Page. Only Gold and Ultimate Edition got Free Early Access. Thx to the XBOX Support.

    Hi

I have downloaded the new BF on origin once already and when I go to play it comes up with this error message!!

I have repaired it and uninstalled and re installed but it will not load, I have tried running under admin as well but nothing.

    Anyone else having this problem?

So my buddy was having this same issue and this is what we did to fix it. Now he uninstalled the game prior to doing the fix so not sure if that is necessary or not.

    Steps:
1: First check which version of Windows you are running.  Go to Start-->Settings-->System--->About--->Look under “Windows specifications”

    2: Now go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/media-feature-pack-list-for-windows-n-editions-c1c6fffa-d052-8338-7a79-a4bb980a700a

3: From here, select the version of Windows you have and click on the link. Then follow the instructions on “How to get this update”

4: Once that is completed, go to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ for your system.

    5: Reinstall the game

    Hope this helps.

    Hey!

I had the same issue for about a day, tried every single thing I could.
I found a solution but it might not work for everyone.
Basically the gist of it from what I understand is a missing DLL file. What you're gonna do is go to the Battlefield 2042 Crash Log (Mine was under "C:\ProgramData\Origin\Logs"). You're gonna get a file that goes along the lines of BF2042_*Random numbers*_OnlineActivation_Log.
Then you're gonna open that file and find the error code (Mine was a missing DLL file, more specifically the "vcruntime140_1.dll" file. What I did after that was go online to download the dll file (https://www.dll-files.com/vcruntime140_1.dll.html) and copied it into my system32 folder (C:\Windows\System32)
I relaunched the game and it worked perfectly!

    Tell me if this works!
