Re: Stuck on looping intro cinematic

Thanks for your help.

Yes, OneDrive is actively syncing.

I have tried downloading and then redownloading the game on both my C: and D: (an external drive) drives. Steam is running off of the D: drive.

@HenryWallace1944, gotcha. OneDrive is known to cause quite a lot of issues with games that have their Settings folder stored in the Documents folder, Battlefield 2042 is one of those games that has their settings folder stored in the Documents folder. The Settings folder also includes the history of if the Intro Cinematic has already played or not.

    Can you try the following?
    - Turn off OneDrive & play BF2042 to get past the intro cinematic
    - Turn off OneDrive automatic startup with Windows
    - Reboot PC
    - Open BF2042 and see if you still need to play the intro cinematic
    - If not, it indeed looks to be a OneDrive issue
  • Hi Leeuw,

I have this exact issue but Onedrive is not actively running on my machine?

Anything I can do to help with this issue?

    Thanks,

    Love

    Hey @SpreadLoveAlways,

Are you experiencing the issue since a certain date or update of the game? Or since you've bought the game basically?
  • Hi I have the epic game version of the BF 2042 and experiencing the intro looping issue..

I uninstalled the onedrive app and issue still exists.

    I am on windows 11, GPU - gtx1650

I had same issue and don't have one drive running on pc. Went to EA app and repaired game and its working now.

  • So I did this and it got my game working after deleting OneDrive and even moving the game to a different drive as others have suggested.. Neither worked.

    Go to: C:\Users\your_name\Documents\Battlefield 2042\cache

Delete everything that is not "cache.manifest"

    Restart computer

    Hope this helps!
