Did a test on a small map 16v16 TDM with bots portal server of mine. The only maps that worked like usual were Orbital, Flashpoint, and Redacted. Will test again after waking up. Portal code: ABJCM1
I know this issue had been a problem with 64 player tdm on conquest size maps for awhile, but never brought it up because why would anyone except me want to run across the entirety of Discarded. I used it for testing out scopes and bullet drop at 700+ meters mainly.

I have crossplay on, and the issue still exists. I did confirm Orbital, Flashpoint, and Redacted all work, filling up with AI as intended.
BF3, BC2, and 1942 maps appear to work ask well, with their respective characters and weapon sets.
- ATFGunr2 years agoLegend@lope234 I didn’t even try it with crossplay on, so it’s just a general AI backfill bug. Seems easy to fix I hope it’s at least on the list.

Confirming the bug still exists on PS5
Absolutely brutal that EA is not even responding to this. Seems like a simple AI balancing bug ignored resulting in a huge TDM community of PC players that just aren't playing anymore.
This game began on the PC and Ea doesn't seem to care about the non cross play experience. Worse they willingly choke it off with bugs.they ignore.
TDM is literally the only populated game mode for PC. Non cross play.
It is still happening on PC only TDM today.
I agree Quaker. The lack of response to a huge issue like this is making my decision to not buy the next Battlefield game a good one.

I'm thinking that it has something to do with the limited time game mode (Dark Protocol). It might get fixed with the next weekly missions.
Can anyone else confirm whether the 2042 maps Orbital, Flashpoint, and Redacted have working AI?
I'm curious if those three only work with PS4 or if all platforms work with them.
The AI bug is not map specific. It occurs on those three maps and the rest randomly. It seems that you can get working AI approximately every three TDM rounds.
It breaks the following map and hasn't worked for me two games in a row

Since season 6 started I have an issue with bots. I play portal tdm and the first match is fine all works bots are there but once the round will end and I will be taking to the next round the map is empty, its only me and not even one bot. When I played with 3 other players the same happend. When second round started there was only me and 3 other players but no sign of even one bot. This happens in tdm 32 players as well 128 as this is all I play

- ATFGunr2 years agoLegend@ElliotLH What we need now is for some feedback buddy. We assume info is passed up chain, just knowing that it’s on a list or not going to change at least gives us some information rather than this vacuum. It seems a simple fix, letting us know it’s not or anything at least allows us to stop trying to fix things on our end. Any info is appreciated.

Just wanted to let you know that the dev team's understanding of current AI bugs as described in the November check-in seems to be missing this backfill bug entirely.
Matchmaking with AI Soldiers
As we’ve previously indicated on BattlefieldComm, we are aware that sometimes players are matchmaking into matches where AI Soldiers take up too many slots.
While AI Soldiers will always be there to ensure that matches remain full, no matter the player count, we will continue to improve this experience over time.
To be crystal clear, the bug in this thread that is widespread and reproducible is that AI Soldier aren't spawning at all.
It has nothing to do with taking slots or ensuring the matches stay full.
AI Soldiers are greyed out and never spawn, it's that simple.
I hope you can ensure the dev teams know this.
It would be really unfortunate if they skipped fixing this bug for the 6.2 patch due to a communication issue.
Also if we aren't being specific enough, or need to provide clearer information to the dev team, we're happy to.
I can take a quick video of the issue and that would be crystal clear. Not sure where I could upload that.- ElliotLH2 years agoHero+@QuakerOatz No worries. I'll provide an update when I get some info back.

It appears that for PS4 at least, some maps are back working. Discarded, Hourglass, and Kaleidoscope work, I don't have enough time to test them all out though.
I know Breakaway didn't work though.
