Yep. Several people has this problem since launch and EA is doing nothing to fix it. Sometime the game works, but 90% of the time I get this error.

  • Reinstalled 2042 recently, and tried to play with two of my friends on 9/23. One of my friends experienced this exact issue. Got the game to launch once, then it failed, and they spent 3 hours troubleshooting, trying to get past the persistent data error. It still won't launch properly, even after full uninstall/ reinstall of origin and 2042, full reboots of the machine,  ensuring firewall settings were good, overlays were disabled, etc.

I'll see if I can get him to post if you need additional info.

    @Jeffrodamus Turn off Crossplay.
Some people have discovered that disabling crossplay fixes the “unable to load persistence data error. This solution is shared by all of those who experience this error though but you can give it a try to see if it works on your end.
To disable Crossplay, just go into Settings > General.

If you’re playing Battlefield 2042 on an Xbox, you need to go to Settings > General > Online Safety & Family > Privacy and Online Safety > Xbox privacy > View Details and Customize > Communication and Multiplayer > Select Block under You can join cross-network play.

also check this site, maybe a fix in it ?!

  • @Rokebo73 If it isn't loading persistence data, it won't load the main menu, so there is no possible way to disable crossplay.
  • @EA_Atic I am now having this same issue after 260 hours played. Verified integrity of files and I would REALLY love to fix this without reinstalling on my terribly slow internet. Can you give me a solution?

@Rokebo73@EA_Atic  Yep. I tried this at that time, didn't work. Usually when people has this problem, they can't even get to the main menu, so they can't even change that.

Also, in Brazil if you disable crossplay, you just can't play the game, not enough players. BF took the decision to remove server search, so the game sometimes is unplayable already.

I did manage to play the game after a few weeks. Maybe some update? I think is EA servers that are just terrible. The game is a complete mess in all fronts.

HAHAHAHA, right now I just tried to boot the game to check again and got a new message: ID_PC_CORRUPT_SAVE_BODY. Now when I enter the game it sends me to the basic game configuration and the game tutorial. WHAT A MESS! I remember that when I bought the game I was being sent back to the tutorial every time I logged in. Pain in the ***. I guess now I have another problem.

Sincerely, I gave up... So many problems, so many bugs, so many wrong decisions on the game management/development. Not even having a clean game start I can.

Maybe the game will be ready to boot in 2042. See you guys in 20 years?

    Best regards,

    Tim

Hello my friend. I tried everything, even reinstalling. Didn't work. The only solution was waiting a few weeks for some miraculous update on the servers or game, I don't know.

But now I have a new problem that the game sends me back to the main tutorial when I log in. What a journey!

Hope you can fix it! For now, just pray for a update.
