As a troubleshooting strategy I tried using my mobile hotspot instead a few days ago after I wasn't able to connect for days using my 1GB fibre. I was able to connect with the mobile hotspot but connection was laggy and I experienced lots of rubberbanding and severe warnings of packet loss, and was kicked off the servers after a few minutes in every game.
I'm in Singapore on PS5.
After the patch yesterday I was finally able to connect to servers using my fibre, but again the connection was laggy with rubberbanding and constant packet loss warnings, although less severe that on the mobile hotspot before. I have never had this problem before with any Battlefield servers hosted in Singapore in the 8 years I have been playing on PS4 and PS5 here. I usually have a <5ms ping and a rock solid connection.
I tried looking for a way to see my ping in BF2042 (on PS5) but couldn't find it.
I have no problems with any other online services, Everything else is rock solid and super fast.
My gut feeling is that the servers are overloaded or unstable for some other reason. I think that's also why I haven't been able to connect to servers before the patch, other than at odd hours. If the servers are overloaded, maybe that's why I am unable to get connected. If this is true, you need to add more server capacity asap. This situation is unacceptable, especially for a game struggling to make a comeback.
I have the same problem. When connecting with mobile hotspot its work but when wired connection not connecting server all games EA

Normally, when you can connect with a mobile hotspot, it means there is a problem with your home network or ISP. If the problem were the game or your account, you wouldn't be able to connect on either connection. It would be good to contact your ISP to see if they are noticing any issues.
Since you're able to connect again, but are experiencing lag, check with your ISP as I mentioned previously. If they are no noticing any issues, we can go through some troubleshooting.
@EA_Aljo Thank you for your reply.
As per my previous post, yes I was able connect using my mobile hotspot but connection was laggy and I experienced lots of rubberbanding and severe warnings of packet loss, and was kicked off the servers after a few minutes in every game.
I have continued to try with my home broadband. Results vary a lot. In evenings I am usually not able to connect unless I try very late, e.g. around midnight. In the evenings it is rarely possible to get connected. During the day it is easier.
When I do manage to get connected, the connection varies. Sometime I experience lag, rubberbanding and packet loss. When looking at the latency in the scoreboard, it varies a lot. In the past it has always been less than 10ms for servers hosted in Singapore. Currently with BF2042 it varies between 8ms and over 100ms. I am convinced that sometimes I am allocated to servers hosted elsewhere based on the latency being consistently above 50ms. At other times it is sometimes 8ms but varies a lot, so it must be a server hosted in Singapore but for some reason the connection is unstable.
I have not contacted my ISP because I have tested with a bunch of other applications/games, and everything works as usual with a rock solid and super fast connection.
Again, my gut feeling is that the servers are overloaded or unstable for some other reason. I think that's also why I sometimes can't connect at all at peak hours. Are you able to confirm whether servers are indeed hosted in Singapore, and give us some statistics on server load. Do you have abundant capacity or is it sometimes fully utilised? Is it variable and able to add capacity as needed or are there limits?
Please note that I have 40 years of programming experience. We can skip the beginner talk. I mean no offence by this. I am scandinavian, I like straight talk.
- @EA_Aljo LOL how come I'm using ISP with other game such as battlefield V Or other online game are work but switch to battlefield 2042 and there was eror pop up unable to load persistence data Error
Yes I'm using mobile Hotspot can play battlefield 2042 but it is like more than 200ms of ping
Well I will not play battlefield 2042 with mobile Hotspot
And can you or developer see the thread how many people have the same problem in below thread?

I only suggested the mobile hotspot as a test. When you can connect to a mobile hotspot, but cannot connect on your normal home connection, it means there's an issue your ISP will need to help with. It would either be related to your equipment or an issue with your ISP.
- @EA_Aljo cmon you are not help with the same answer on and on again
How come I can play OTHER ONLINE GAME with my ISP home connection (I'm on PS5) without no issue such as battlefield V, fall guys, chivalry 2, Fifa 23 with low latency, but when I'm switching to battlefield 2042 and there was error pop up with unable to load persistence data etc
And why there are no one from developers reply or support with other thread and it was already 14 pages! All having the same issue.
Other thread are as below

I believed they have stop playing battlefield 2042 since no one from developer are not look at this issue. @CalleSGDKSame reply here from the developer I'm done with battlefield 2042 lol

Every game is different. Just because others work and 2042 doesn't, doesn't mean the issue is with the game or our servers. The best I can advise at the moment is to contact your ISP and let them know that you can connect on a different connection, but not the one they are supplying.
By honestly your not helping, as I have call my ISP and informed them same as your suggestion and the technician are checking ping test when I'm playing all online games and there are no packaged lost even I'm playing battlefield 2042. (using WiFi and LAN) Can play all the online games even battlefield V with low latency 2ms (NAT2) on PS5.
when playing battlefield 2042
But still found those error messages
Here's my email from my ISP that they already checking with no ISSUE on the internet, they said the game are the issue not the ISP. So they close the issue ticket
Well I don't want to change my ISP or playing with mobile Hotspot (as higher ping) only to play bf2042 when I can play other online games with no issue
I'm done with battlefield 2042 even I'm playing from bf 1942 and having S019 level in bf2042.
EA would need to look at this issue from the community as so many threads @ and players having the same issue!
Just like @baguscool I have contacted my ISP (WhizComms, Singapore, 1GB fibre), they checked the connection and there is nothing wrong. They also confirmed that they do not do any filtering or throttling of the connection.
The problem is not with the ISP. Look at the facts: in these active threads about the same problem (also see https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/BF2042-unable-to-connect/m-p/12280915 and https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Battlefield-2042-persistence-data-problem/m-p/12280918) you see many users with the exact same problem from different countries, so it can't be an ISP problem. Mostly the users are from South East Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong).
As I have pointed out previously, it's not an either or, sometimes I am able to connect, other times I am not. Mostly when I am able to connect, there is lag, rubberbanding and package loss.
I have played this game daily for over a year and never hand any connection problems or lag/rubberbanding/package loss. Until Friday 27th January. Then it starting being like I am describing here.
All other services - games, mobile apps, web pages work with no problems. It is only BF2042 that doesn't work.
Based on all of this, you can not just blame the ISP. At the very least you need to give us more to troubleshoot than just saying ask the ISP. We have done that, and there is nothing to report. If you actually want to help us, you need to give us something we can test based on what the game requires. What actually happens when the game is trying to connect to online services? What services does it connect to? Give us server URL's and/or IPs that we or our ISP's can test for.
As I have said before, I believe the problem is related to server capacity. This could also be about connection capacity, i.e. capacity of the internet connection to the servers. We just don't know which part of the connection has the problem because it might be over many hops. But it can't be isolated to the ISP because we don't use the same ISP because we're not even in the same country. If we have more details about what services the game actually uses when establishing the connection to online services, we have a better chance of identifying the problem.
Based on the fact that users have reported not having the same problem with Battlefield titles, I believe the technology used in BF2042 to connect to online services is more sensitive and error prone than it was in previous titles.
This is not a minor problem. If EA/DICE wants future titles to be succesful, you need to solve this problem. I suggest you assign network engineers to work with us on this problem instead of just bouncing the ball back to us every time. I am happy to work directly with your engineers and do any troubleshooting you require on my side. I have the time and the skills.

When there are a large number of players from a region that are having connection problems, that's a sign there is an issue with the internet in that region. At this time, we're not aware of any issues that would cause this. You're welcome to contact an advisor to see if they have anything else to suggest. To do that, try messaging @EAHelp through Twitter or open a case with a live support advisor here: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/. You can also go to facebook.com/eahelphub to get in touch with support. They'll look into this for you. Thanks!
