@xzombiekiller538It's not just you, it's all of us it seems. Only way I got around it was by launching Steam and then using that to launch Origin but it's still frustrating to get it working and a suboptimal way to try.

Same issue here with both an Xbox Elite Series 2 and a Dualsense 5.
Playing via Steam.Fixes attempted:
Updated Elite Series 2 firmware via Xbox Accessories application on Win10Connected via USB
Connected via Bluetooth
Disabled Steam controller support
Enabled Xbox controller support in Big Picture (Also attempted this with Playstation controller support with the Dualsense 5)
Enabled Xbox extended feature support in Big Picture
Connected controller prior to booting PC
Connected controller after booting PC but prior to launching BF2042
Connected controller after launching BF2042
Connected controller mid-match
During each and every attempt I simply get zero input from the controllers. I saw some people reporting randomized inputs but I can't get either of my controllers to do anything at all. During the beta I had a regular XBone controller that worked except the controller itself had a bigger issue and I had to get rid of it, and I replaced it with the Elite Series 2 which never worked at all for the beta but works flawlessly for any other PC game I try to use it with. I've double and triple checked both controllers are working with Windows and they work just fine outside of BF2042.
I only want to use these for jets because the M+KB controls for jets is garbage. I can fly helicopters/VTOLs just fine with keyboard.
POTENTIAL FIX!!!
I don't know if DICE rolled out a fix on the backend or what I did solved it, but I uninstalled vJoy and the controller started working. Currently I have Steam controller support disabled, which is one of the things I tested earlier, but it seems Battlefield was very unhappy with vJoy. I doubt everyone having the issue on PC has vJoy installed but if you DO have it installed, try uninstalling it and then going through the other troubleshooting motions such as disabling Steam controller support.
Yep I’m having the same problem running 2042 on pc through origin on a ps5 controller. I run steam in the background and it recognises my ps5 controller no matter what I have tried the controls are all stuffed up!! Soon as I load into a game it automatically looks to the ground. I had no problems whatsoever playing the beta and I haven’t changed anything on origin or steam. Pretty disappointing considering the price we pay.
wont be touching 2042 until it’s fixed. Back to vanguard it isMy xbox wireless adapter works fine with my xbox elite series 2 controller in BF2042. During the BF2042 beta, the game would not recognize my controller was connected until I disconnected my Razer Orbweaver Chroma usb keypad. Since I only use the keypad for World of Warcraft, and I no longer play that game, I never reconnected the keypad. Try disconnecting unnecessary usb devices to see if that solves your problem.
- @Palamino You’re a freaking genius!!! Thank you! My Razer Tartarus was plugged off to the side and I didn’t see it. I’m back in!
I got it!! Holy hell I've been so mad at this issue. If ur on steam. Before opening the game right click on it and go to properties-controller-and where it says default input change that to disable steam input. Recognized my controller immediately. I'm Using an Xbox one controller with a Windows 10 Bluetooth adapter.
im in the same boat rn bought it through origin ive tried every thing all my friends that got it through steam have no issues playing with the ps5 controllers

@FLYINGTOASTRif your using input mapper it stuffs up alot of controller input stuff. but DS4 is perfectly fineI am not using input mapper. The motherboard's Bluetooth connectivity with ALL my xbox controllers don't function properly with this game ONLY, I have to have the controllers plugged in via USB cable. And I figured out what's causing losing focus issue and looking at a different place randomly is my speakers making my mouse shake and that's what causes it. I am not trying to figure out a way to disable the keyboard and mouse when I have a controller plugged in. If you know how I would appreciate you letting us know.
