Repair tool bugged inside helicopters

I'd understand if the flashing red and green back and forth was intentional showing you that you can only repair so fast. But this only happens in helicopters. And the fact sometimes you can't even repair, you have to look all around the inside trying to find sweet spots just so it repairs a little. Sometimes it just won't even repair. I've been playing battlefield since 1942 came out and in the games that had the repair tool i've never had this kind of problem before.
