Resolved - PC Update 4.0.1 - Game won't go past EAC screen and EA app returns

When I run 2042, after the easy anti-cheat logo appears, eaapp runs again without any reaction. No error message appears. CM: edited title for clarity.

Summarize your bug The game won't launch. I open it through Steam, then the EA launcher opens, then nothing happens. I've tried launching it from EA as well, and nothing happens. I've tried verifying the integrity of the game files, updating to the latest Nvidia driver, clearing the contents of the folders in \Documents\Battlefield 2042\, reinstalling the EA app, and rebooting PC.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know.
What happens when the bug occurs? See summary - game doesn't open.
What should be happening instead? Game opens

This is very frustrating. I try to support this game as much as I can, and it feels like a constant challenge. @EA_Leeuw any suggestions?

Update: I uninstalled from my M.2 and reinstalled on an SSD, and the game's working again. I'll mark this as the solution even though it's hardly solved anything - hope it helps someone else.

    @x2inf It's the game not the drive location. I don't think that's the solution, only a coincidence. Give it time and it will happen again. Don't waste your SSD write health reinstalling to fix a dev caused problem. And let other players award solutions to yourself. If I awarded myself solutions I'd have 100 of them.

      @DaveTheBrave_USA No kidding - I feel paranoid the game isn't gonna open every time now.

      Btw, are you seeing the same errors in your logs as we described in this thread?

        @x2inf Actually no I don't see anything that applies to my log files. This is a widespread problem. EA will apply a fix.
