S6 Patch on Steam: Game takes you back to Steam when trying to play

I can't launch the game (Steam) after the release of Season 6.

At first there was an error with infinite validation of files in Steam, I used the tip from the forum and restored EA App.

Now the game just won't launch. With EA App and Steam running, another EA App window appears for a second (it's blank, nothing in it) as a separate copy on the taskbar (two icons).

Then a splashscreen with a picture of Season 6 appears, it shows for a few seconds, then disappears and EA App unfolds.
Tried to launch the game from Steam and EA App, the result is the same.

Yesterday before the release of the update everything was working, I think the problem is in the connection EA App + Steam.

These difficulties have occurred before, this connection between EA app and Steam is very unstable, unfortunately.

What I tried to do:
1) check file integrity in Steam
2) check file integrity in EA App
3) clearing EA App cache
4) reboot PC
5) launch EA App and Steam with administrator rights

    Hi everyone, 

    In order for the teams to investigate the issue, we would like to ask you a couple of questions:

    Read this first 👇

    1. Are you seeing the EA anticheat splash screen fully loading up with a white bar? Or does it not fully load? (See image)

    2. Please share an EA app Error Report ID with us and share the Error Reporter ID here in the thread.

    Possible workarounds:

    1. Uninstall a program called "CryptoPro" if you have it installed.

    I see that a lot of you have this software installed, which seems to be causing issues with Battlefield 2042 and EA anticheat.

    2. Make sure that Battlefield 2042 and EA anticheat are excluded from any antivirus software and that it's not blocked by the Windows Exploit Protection or Control Flow guard (CFG).

    Open your installed antivirus, antimalware, or firewall blocker and make an exclusion for Battlefield 2042.

    In addition to that, turn of Control Flow guard (CFG) for Battlefield 2042 in Windows by following these steps:

    1. Open your PC Settings,
    2. Open Windows Security Settings,
    3. Click on "App & Browser control",
    4. Click on "Exploit protection settings", 
    5. Click on "Program settings",
    6. Click on "Add program to customize",
    7. Click on "Choose exact file path",
    8. Navigate to where you have installed Battlefield 2042 and click on the 'BF2042.exe' file,
    9. Click on "Open",
    10. Scroll down to Control Flow guard (CFG),
    11. Click on "Override system settings",
    12. Make sure it's switched to the "Off" position,
    13. Click on "Apply".

    Once we have enough information and details, the teams can start their investigation into the issue.

    Game is not launching for me either.  Attempted both running the game via Steam and the EA App directly.  Uninstalled the EA App, validated files in Steam, cleared cache in EA App. Game still won't start.  Worked fine before downloading the season 6 update in Steam.

    Same problem here. Had the validation problem this morning, but that got resolved but the game simply won,t launch anymore.  Did the hamburger thing, reinstalled the EA App, validated the steam files. It was working fine yesterday night a midnight before I installed the Season 6 patch.

    Hi, i tried start game via EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher. Game started but after the first view and loadout it going to msg "the EA app is not installed on this PC" while i have EA app instaled.

    Tried reainstall EA app, clean cache etc. It dont working.

    Also having this issue. Running on steam. Initially was having validating issue, no longer having that issue. 

    Launching briefly looks like its attempting to run, then abruptly stops with no warning / error. No 2042 related screen ever occurs throughout this process.

    • Attached is the only window that pops up and immediately closes. 

    Attempted fixes that have failed. (After each thing I have tried launching from Steam)

    1. Launched through Steam
    2. Validated files on steam
    3. Cleared steam download cache
    4. Restarting Steam
    5. Launched through EA App
    6. Repaired EA App
    7. Restarting EA App
    8. Restarting Steam, then EA App
    9. Restarting EA App, then Steam
    10. Launched through "BF2042.exe"
    11. Launched through "EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe"
      1. This causes a popup that says "EA app us not installed, and is required to play your game. Please reinstall EA App."
    12. Ran "EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe" and repaired.

    Any advice or things to try would be appreciated.

    Also having this issue. Fixed validation loop but game will not start. With both Steam and EA open and logged in, after launching from Steam, EA, or desktop icon, I get a second EA window, which is blank. The second window disappears after approximately 5 seconds and the game does not launch. I do not see the anti-cheat screen nor the Season 6 splash screen. I am using Windows 11.

    100% having the same issue. Fixed the validation files on Steam issue but the game doesn't launch at all

    I have it through EA. I did everything that was written on the forum. nothing helps.
    Now I decided to start the game - it doesn’t work. I check the game files - it stops at 14% and gives a loading error.

    for reference, I have w11. My friend has W10 and the game won't start for him either. (The problem is not with the operating system or the windows defender)

    People on reddit already found a solution.
    Not sure if I can post links so here's also a copy of the message:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042__Installer\Origin\redist\internal

    Go here and manually repair/install the EA app.

    If you can't find the game there, you must search for where it actually is installed on your machine. Doubleclick on EAappInstaller and then pick "repair" when it comes up.

    SOLUTION: I have found a fix that worked for me. 

    Issue: EA Desktop was unable to uninstall properly

    Fix steps:

    1. Naviate to your EA Desktop install location. (For me it was Program Files/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop)
    2. Delete "EA Desktop" folder
    3. Download the "EA App installer" from EA's website
    4. Run, and when prompted select Repair

    Launched through EA App (Not steam) afterword and it came up just fine.

    Hope this works for anyone else stuck!
