Screen blanks whenever there's an on-screen display element

For example, when I change the DPI of my Razer Basilisk, an OSD pop-up comes up in the bottom right corner showing what the new chosen DPI is, my monitor will go black for about 5 seconds. Or when I increase or decrease volume, a small OSD popup comes up in the bottom center, and when I do this in BF2042, I get the same screen blanking.

My monitor is an ASUS TUF VG32QL1A. I would guess it's a particular quirk of this monitor, or else I would find alot of instances of this happening when I google search it. It ONLY happens in BF2042.

Any suggestions as to what I might try?
