So EA? Are you going to solve this? or is it a clear declaration that you abandon your community by keeping a version of the game that is broken?
A suggested course of action would be:
- Revert to previous version (remove the Secure Boot requirement)
- Implement a human-controlled anti-cheat system (moderators, observers... who would connect to a server randomly and ban the cheaters)
- Find some legal way to make cheaters pay money for harmful actions (this would absolutely make most triple think before cheating)
- Learn a lesson and optimize your future games so that everyone can run them without the need to change hardware configs and break their installs
Just a suggestion... - subcarpati13372 months agoSeasoned Newcomer
This will be a big lawsuit. You cannot enforce something like that on a game. You can still cheat even with secure boot. They've messed up big time again. Clowns

With that they welcome cheaters back with open arms
- Implement a human-controlled anti-cheat system (moderators, observers... who would connect to a server randomly and ban the cheaters)
That will never happen because it is way too much demanding and needs a lot of manpower to be affective.
- Find some legal way to make cheaters pay money for harmful actions (this would absolutely make most triple think before cheating)
I can't think of way to find out who is actually behind some random account name who is cheating.. Unfortunately in-game name doesn't do much in court.
- Learn a lesson and optimize your future games so that everyone can run them without the need to change hardware configs and break their installs
There is nothing to learn from.. It is like cat and mouse and endless war. EA find solution to restrict cheaters. Then players all crying about it it because they demanded it themselves.. Not long from now and cheat developers have new trick in their sleeves and everything is back like it was before Secure Boot update.. Cheaters running freely until EA find solution again.. It will go on like this forever..

No crying from me little man. You talk like you're a mod here, and act like a child while doing it. Bottom line of this whole thing is, even if people are willing and able to change their bios on their PC, they shouldn't have to in order to play a freakin video game that's years old. I can change mine, and I did so last night, but it still didn't work even after Secure Boot was enabled. I have read more about it today, and decided to just say no. They shouldn't be allowed to make people change their bios settings, and need to revert back to where it was before the last update. Why is that so hard for you to understand? Go act all high and mighty somewhere else troll, I don't give a sht what you have to say to me until you can talk with some respect. I've read your other posts, you think you are all that, and you aint sht!

Why is it so hard for you to understand that this is exactly what you wanted. EA to step up with anticheat correct? If there is roll back then everyone start to cry again due to cheaters can do whatever they want. Cheaters chose Secure Boot for their way to get in then that's the "door" that needs to be patched. Up to you. Roll back and play with cheaters or just read one more time update announcement post and reset your keys in bios as it is saying there. Then your Secure Boot will be recognised by the system. I have been in that business as long I can remember and been helping people with exact same issues for long-long time. So I believe I am allowed to say s*it like that if it is working. Don't worry I dont expect anything in return when you get it fixed and can enjoy the game you love. This is what i do. Help people, no strings attached.

You would rather lose your largest base (PC) just so you can have just console players.
Do you really think that it is making any difference at all? Most people have Secure Boot enabled because that's the modern standard and requirement for WIN 11. People need to move on and leave that discontinued WIN 10 behind. People who have motherboard older then 13 years are the ones who can not use Secure Boot. This amount is small.
Guess you don't seem to understand you have successfully blocked 90% of your PC players from ALL your games. You will suffer from future games and the immediate loss of PC players bailing from EA Play.
I would like to see that source you get your information lol.. You must be dreaming.
