Settings resets to default

So this is like the 3-4th time i get my settings reset to default. Intro scene is playing when starting the game. Is this because they updated the game/patched?

Had the same after moving the game to a new drive. After half a dozen restarts and tutorial frustration I finally resolved it by deleting my profile from \Users\<username>\Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings. Origin then brought my profile down and the game went into the menu as normal.

@DVDF_Roostah, good to hear that this workaround has solved the issue for you. Hope it stays like this.

I'm really happy that this bug has been solved with the latest patch, it almost made me insane to re-do almost every setting or rollback to my backuped ones...

@direct3r, yeah I can imagine that it was very frustrating. If you experience it again in the future though, feel free to let us know!

fixed? since the last patch i had it at least 6 of 10 days playing, so not really fixed

the fix for me was to use the standard origin client instead of the (thin) client which steam is starting when origin is not running

i admit i have a strange constellation where the software is installed:

-win11 is installed on SSD (this SSD is only for windows, office, drivers and some tools like Origin)

-Document folder is moved to a separate HDD (if i need to reinstall windows the data is still there without playing back my backup)

-game is installed on an SSD which I use only for games

-Steam is on another HDD (4TB for games which don’t need a SSD for gaming like single player games or older, smaller games)

So, it seems that there more factors which can cause this issue

@CountSero Your HDD/SSD setup is identical to mine. Only difference is that I don't run it from Steam. Sounds like there's no definite answer to this issue. That said, I've not had any problems since I updated this thread last.
