When I select conquest or hazard zone my game starts loading into the game mode, goers to the map screen and says standby, showing the map I’ll be playing on but will never load past this screen. It just sits there saying standby, I’ve waiting 15-20 minutes a few times in hopes it would work. It’s been like this all day. I’ve gotten into a game 1 time. While stuck on this screen there’s no way to get off of it without restarting the Xbox console.
I'm on PS5 and I haven't seen this spoken about elsewhere. When I first search for a game I have no problem getting into a game. After that game is over, I hit search again and seemingly it finds a match, does a countdown and then nothing happens. The camera will slowly spin around my character and then eventually will reset such that I have to search again. No matter how many times I search it will just continue resetting and will not put me into a match. The only workaround I've found is to dashboard then close the game entirely and restart it. When I do this the cycle starts over, I get into one game, it ends, then I can't get into a game again until I restart the game again.
I'm getting no errors, previously I was also getting the persistence error code, but now it is only this with no error code or anything. It is very frustrating, especially when I join a game and it glitches such that I have to quit or join a game that is basically over.
I've searched with a friend as well and my friend will be able to get into a match, but I won't be able to and will be left in the matchmaking screen.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. I haven't seen anything else like this on forums or reddit etc.
i have the exact problem, i invite my friends to the party, their game starts while i return back to the main screen
the only solution i could find was start a game by yourself without anyone in the party (atleast 3 or 4 times) then when it gets loaded, they can join you, after that the game works fine
I been trying to play with a friend on ps5 but everytime we try to start a match the countdown begins then it shows a preview of my character and then I get back to menu screen. My friends sometimes load into the match and sometimes it doest. It seems that when I switch characters sometime it works. Anyone having similar issue?

@EA_Atic Thank you for the reply & sadly yes, I have not played for the past two days as I literally had to close and re launch the game via either origin or EA beta and it frankly took ages to get into a match.
tried it again today with both cross play on and off and still same issue, have to open the game a few times till it accepts me into a match. Spend more time trying to get a match than playing atm so I will wait till game patches come out see if it fixes my issue.
dont get me wrong the little I do play when I finally get it im loving but it is frustrating to have to re open the game multiple times to play a match and dont get me started on trying to play with friends 😂
Same problem on Xbox Series S since early access, initially I would get 1 game out of approx 10/15 attempts with the same "back to main menu" issue, at official launch it got a bit better like 1/5 and for some reason now it's back to 1/15 for AoW, and absolutely impossible to launch a solo/coop game, 0/30 attempts so far...
I never really got the persistent data issue, only this failed connection issue with no error message which is really, really annoying!
Same problem on Xbox Series S since early access, initially I would get 1 game out of approx 10/15 attempts with the same "back to main menu" issue, at official launch it got a bit better like 1/5 and for some reason now it's back to 1/15 for AoW, and absolutely impossible to launch a solo/coop game, 0/30 attempts so far...
I never really got the persistent data issue, only this failed matchmaking issue with no error message which is really, really annoying! I could consider restarting after every game while waiting for a proper fix but I can literally join 0 portal, breakthrough or solo/coop game, only conquest and HZ, anybody experienced this as well ?
I can't imagine this being a connectivity issue on my end because when I finally manage to get a game the connection is super stable, it's really a matchmaking bug but it feels like this is never mentioned in the developper's communication...

Yeah its whats happening to me, only work around to it that I have found is closing and re-launching the game and even then sometimes it will still fail to get you in a match after the initial 10 second match found countdown.
