Stuttering on PC BF2042

I  have an occasional microstutter in the 128 game mode, what happens if you lock monitor refreshrate to 60Hz and enable Vsync in game?

yep...

Random freezes, micro stutter and stuttering exist in this game ( random massive frametime spikes)… I've uninstalled it now... This game is crap. Not a patch on BF1, 3 & 4.. They run butter smooth, there is no comparison between those games and this pile of do do. Very disappointing.

They have managed to destroy the whole Battlefield 'feel' that Battlefield games had. I wont be buying anymore Battlefield games unless a miracle happens and they create something special..

It'll need a demo too so i can test before buying... if it isn't great on demo, then there will be no purchase.

i have attempted all of this and still get microstutter no matter what settings i change. 

Could someone please look over the DIAG here and see if there is anything wrong here causing the game stutter.

I'm pretty sure it wont be your rig. This game is still bugged / unoptimized.

Have you tried BF1,3 or 4 on your PC? They run smooth as silk on my system whereas BF2042 has random micro stuttering, stuttering / frame time spikes.

Its the game mate I'm afraid.

I play the earlier Battlefield games... I've uninstalled BF2042.. Big disappointment.

Hi Liddle, it could be your just trying to push your rig too hard. I have the same hardware as you and tried bf5 at 4k but got bad stuttering. I get no stuttering with bf5 or bf2024 at 1440p. i use rivatuner to monitor frametimes and it’s buttery smooth at 1440p. I don’t think the game is the problem, because it does run smooth for a lot of people, just watch streamers as proof.

Must admit I don't run game at 4K ( 1440p monitor), i play at 1440p, but the random stutters etc occur at any lower resolutions too and with all the settings set Low.

It will be interesting to see  if Liddle has these issues the same at lower resolutions. 

@raverillSo if you run low Graphical/resolution settings you take out the GPU of the equation.

So what's left is your CPU and storage setup. Micro stutter is noticeable on my setups on the bigger 128 player maps as my CPU spikes higher than on the 64 ones...

However it is not that it starts lagging or borking the frames per second that it becomes unplayable. It is just less smooth...

Yes... i have AMD 5800x CPU and a nvme drive so don't think the issues there either....its not that the game is unplayable, its just the random hitching and micro stutter distracts . Some people are more sensitive to stuttering than others. I find it annoying, especially as earlier Battlefield games don't exhibit it. Mind you, i run those in DX11, i feel the Frostbite engine may not be as well optimised using DX12 ?

Something is definitely off ?
