The X button is hard-Coded to change my firing rate,I want it to zoom on the map
To whom it may concern,
In Battlefield 2042 on the PC, I remapped my keys so that the V button changes the Firing rate, and the X button causes the mini-map to change zoom levels.
However what I was noticing is that when I pressed the X button to zoom out, it was also changing my firing rate. This would often get me killed as my gun would stop firing Auto.
Even though I go into the key bindings and I see that X is for mini-map zoom and V is for firing rate, it's not working as intended.
As a matter of fact when I clear the key binding for the mini-map Zoom and then assign it again to Zoom again. It gives me a message that this button is already mapped to "Toggle-Underbarrel (Hold)/Firemode" and it asks me if I want to be sure if I want this change. So somewhere in the code, it knows this key is already mapped but nowhere in my User Interface does it show the X button mapped to any other function, and my Firemode is actually mapped to the V button.
Because of this message and how it functions in the game affecting both actions, (Mini-map Zoom and Firemode) I believe this "X" key must be hard-coded somewhere. I have re-installed and repaired the game and the issue still persists. The "V" button works perfectly fine. I had to map my button the my Mouse 5 button in the meantime to not get me killed but I'd like to get this fixed. As I'm writing this, I'm going to guess there used to be a Toggle-Underbarrel/Firemode mapping that is probably no longer in the UI keymapping menu, but still in the code of the game somewhere.
I am attaching 3 pictures to help illustrate the problem, in these pictures, you will see my "X" mapping set to Zoom-Minimap and "V" is set to Firemode/Update Burst Range.
I am also attaching the message that pops up when I'm trying to map the Zoom-Minimap to X, letting me know that this key is already bound to "Toggle-Underbarrel (Hold)/Firemode" when it isn't at all.
Thank you for your help. BF2042 rocks.
