This game is very horribly optimised

Im running a RTX 2080 and a 10th gen i7 cpu with 16gb of ram and are getting max 40-30 fps on all low settings. I even tried to render my settings on the NVIDIA program but that didn't do the trick so I'm just going to say that this game is horribly optimised and DICE/EA needs to do something about it. Please release a hot fix because it isn't enjoyable not being able to get a kill while stuttering the whole time.

  • I'm on an Intel Core i9-7980XE 18C/36TH with RTX 3090 OC and 2x 4TB NVME SSD, the game will only use 8C from all i have, my rig is tuned to run all games maxed out with rtx on at 3840x1600, but, BF2042 is no exception like BF1 and BF5 were, they all suffered from the same issue. You can see now on YouTube all people making profit of "Fix BF2042 stutter, lag, increase fps", even good TechTubers, but nothing works if you are above 1080p, 90%+ of dev teams optimize for this resolution as it's a console resolution...

Praying this works. But in no way should a consumer have to go through all of these steps just to play a game. It’s so poor on eas part that instead of fixing it, you have us download and tweak hidden settings. Fix the game and I’ll buy it

    Thanks again for you reply

I stil have heavy drops in performance, a thing that i saw on day 12nov but now that that all are playing it's much worse, i have a rig capable of running any game at any resolution that i also posted, but with the ingame fps overlay it shows red spikes on cpu usage and fps drops of 20+, i've been following this issue and working on all i know but the game is programed to use only 8C, and i have 18C/36TH on my cpu. As a reviewer, hardware tester and overclocker i applied all what i know to improve it on the software side and on the hardware side, i even followed many users post, techtubers, youtubers and yes it can help but the drops are still there specially on heavy maps, snow, explotions, many soldiers and sometimes not even so. For ex when i enter to the map you can clear see that fps have a massive drop and cpu is in red (the aereal view and then you go into the map) and also when you die that do the process in the other way, that is an always thing that never goes aways, the scopes also, specially the sniper does the same and cpu spikes in red again, so don't know anything else to do but try to help and report these issues. It should be good to let them game use as many cores as it can as it's very cpu bound, the Core i9-7980XE is a beast of power and also the RTX 3090.

    My hardware:

    Intel Core i9-7980XE 18C/36TH

    ASRock X299 OC Formula

    4x8GB DDR4-3800C15

    2x M.2 NVME 4TB

    RTX 3090 OC

    1500W TITANIUM PSU

    X38P 3840x1600 NVIDIA G-SYNC

    All Custom Watercooled

Hope they fix this, i love the game and the remake but sadly in my personal case i have stuttering and fps drops, specially if they are often.

    All the Best, Sergio!

  • Yes i try not to be negative, i love the game but i hate having great hardware capable of running it at nice fps and see all that stutter, fps drops and cpu bound situations when playing at high resolution.

I do hope they allow the game to use more cores, currently is only using 8.
