BF 2042 IGNORES user.cfg. Nothing you are writting there is actually applied. Check it yourself in game console. Type just the name of a parameter and press enter without entering a value and it will show you the current value, so you can verify for yourself that none of the values in user.cfg actually applied. I'm sorry but this is currently just placebo effect. I would love to be able to play around with those settings myself, but the truth is right now it's impossible, cause user.cfg doesn't work and those settings cannot be hot-applied and don't persist game restarts.

@MrBarraski It is working. Thread.MaxProcessorCount from User.cfg has measurable influence and can be checked as "Job threads" using in-game's console Render.DrawScreenInfo 1.

Found this possible fix, maybe give it a try.
->
- type/search for "Exploit Protection" in your windows startmenu
- click on the tab "program settings" and "+ add programs to customize”
- "choose exact File Path", navigate to and select BF2042.exe
- customize this new BF2042 entries settings, scroll down to “Control Flow Guard”, check “Override System Settings” and turn “Control Flow Guard” manually off.
- Apply
Restart your system.
