Hey all.
Fear not, we did not abandon you. The weekend got in between and I have escalated this further so it can be investigated hopefully.
Unfortunately, it seems like none of our basic or advanced network troubleshooting steps has solved the issue for you, which is very unfortunate indeed.
Can I ask you to report the error codes that you're seeing when you're on the "Can't connect to the EA servers" screen if you see any?
So far is have noticed that it is 1:4688822970:1502I:-891751198O:0B and 1:4688822970:100J:1004G, is there anything else that you are getting when you get the splash screen?
Edit: I would also like to ask you something fairly strange. Do you maybe know if you have a dynamic or static public IP from your Interner Provider? If you are on a dynamic IP, can you check if turning off your router/modem for 20 minutes and turning it back on again changes the IP for you and if you can connect? You can check your public IP via sites such as https://whatismyipaddress.com/.
(Please do not post your IPs here)

@Neebs_ZA So I did some sort of last resort solution because I became desperate since the game still didn't work after it's newest update so I decided to reset my whole computer. And it worked, it seems like since I bought the game on steam(idk if thats the case) the game files didn't work out properly with the other files I had on steam, so when I reset it the game worked perfectly fine(I still have issues with framerates being very low because of low GPU usage). So if you get as desperate as me and decide to reset your whole computer it will most likely work since we have the same error code.

So I'm wondering, I bought mine on Steam a while back. Since then I've had EA Play on Steam, Xbox, and Origin... Have you had any activations of EA Play on a platform other than Steam AFTER purchasing BF2042 on Steam?

Hey all!
Are you still experiencing the same connection issues? - itsYins4 years agoNot applicable
@EA_LeeuwYes but it's changed. Now it's just showing the main BF2042 page before the homescreen loads and nothing happens.
Screenshot attached. It also opens in a weird window mode. Full-screening the app via Alt+Enter puts it in some low-resolution. All of this can be fixed once I get to the main menu. Not sure this is relevant or useful information, just trying to provide all the information I can.

@EALeeuwI I don't know, I can't get to the unable to connect page anymore. The game just sits on thescreenshot you see from my previous post without telling me any information (no error code, no unable to connect, nothing). So "fixed" wouldn't be what I'd call it.
I've kept the game up for multiple hours and it just stays at the page from my previous screenshot. I closed, alt f4d, or restarted with no luck. I've verified the integrity of game files with no luck.

Still unable to connect with latest patch #3.
Same 1:468882297O:100J:1004G error - see below
Running on PC with recommended specs+
EA, when is this going to be fixed? Is there a workaround for the time being?
Have tried on different networks (my friend's network where his BF2042 is running fine on his PC) and still get this error...

Like I said, I am still unable to connect. While the issue has changed since the recent update, it still is not resolved. Do you suggest I make a new thread?
Look at the screenshot to see the BF2042 screen I'm getting stuck on.

After verifying the integrity of game files, I'm not back at the ship screen.

@itsYins, unfortunately not, as it seems like your University network is blocking something from the game as you explained some time ago.
- itsYins4 years agoNot applicable@EA_Leeuw Thats simply not the case. The beta worked. BF5 works. Apex nd other EA games on Steam that open Origin work.
Please don't absolve responsibility. The networking is a barrier but my Unicersity is not "blocking" your game from working. You have a customer that paid $100 to get into this game. You're not offering a refund so you should help or get someone that can.
Sorry! - EA_Leeuw4 years ago

@itsYins, I fully understand your frustration, however, you mentioned yourself that when trying to play the game on another network it worked just fine, see your message here.

@EA_LeeuwI tried downloading NordVPN and when it's enabled and connected, my university internet just keeps kicking me off. So idk if I can try with a VPN.
But using a laptop on my work internet, I can access the game fine. When the laptop is on my school internet, I am unable to connect.Obviously, I'm tryna play on my desktop so I need this to work on the University wifi where I live. My university has their own VPN services that I could inquire about getting access to? I shouldn't have to use a VPN to be able to play.
This means that it is not the game that is stopping you from playing the game on your University network, but the network itself. Unfortunately, this is not something we can fix on our side, but this is something you have to check with your University.

@EA_LeeuwHey thanks for your response. I'm currently trying to login on my primary university network from alternative devices and getting the same result.
I have a meeting with someone my university networking staff soon. Maybe they can shed some light. Again, any resources you suggest I take to them? I can't ask them to install an app like Wireshark, it's a 20,000+ student university (although they may already have something similar).
